OK, so your list shows that some players actually get to the free throw line without the help of the refs, that doesn't mean that they all do. Of course the players that rank high on the list will drive the hoop more, even the ones getting help from the refs, because the refs have to have a reason to call a foul. But just because you drive the hoop does not mean that you automatically get 2 foul shots.
Here's how it works- If your on an NBA commercial, and you sell tickets and jerseys and what not, and you have a tendency to drive the hoop- you will get a foul call, regardless of whether or not there actually was a foul on the play.
Now compare THIS with the list I provide earlier about the players who attempt the most FT's per game... just to make sure you get the point I will list each player listed according to the popularity of their jerseys and where they rank on the Free Throw Attempts per Game list.

It's like I said before, the players who shoot the most shots AND attack the basket are the ones who get to the line the most. Dwight Howard's ENTIRE game is inside the paint, just like it was for Shaq when he was in his prime... and lebron when he attacks the basket he attacks like a MACK TRUCK.. Allen Iverson HAS NO FEAR despite his size... so it's no surprise these players get to the Free Throw line more than any other players... THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY.

But there is a conspiracy, out of the people that drive the hoop the most, the NBA posterboys are the ones who get the most calls. somebody like Jerry Stackhouse could drive the hoop and get stabbed and there wouldn't be a call. Watch tape of some of the fouls given to Kobe DWade or LeBron, and you will see that half of them involve NO CONTACT whatsoever. You can't argue with something right in front of your face.

I have never seen a worse covered game than the Lakers Mavs game was in this video. Dirk had a better game then Kobe, but all they talk about here is Kobe, because he's more marketable. The NBA needs to start doing highlights based on who had a better game, not who looks better in a commercial. Makes me sick.

Amazing streak by Houston,but am I the only one that cannot understand how they keep winning? I know they are playing good team ball and TMac is..well..Tmac,but still,I just dont see them as one of the top 3-4 squads. are you REALLY going to assert that cultures don't affect each other when those two cultures are bordering each other? Europe is culturally isolated from Aemrica... so (outside of the media) European culture doesn't affect American culture and vice versa. Canada and America have similar cultures rooted in the British past... Mexico's culture is far different.. and they ar playing soccer not basketball... But a mexican would have a better chance LEADING a team to aa tile than a european.

If dirk would've kept with posting up players the heat would've lost the series. And when attempts to post up,he ALWAYS shoots fade aways which menas he gets fouled less, meaning he gets to the line less. Even last night Charles Barkley was scolding Dirk for shooting AWAY from the basket on the last second shot to win the game. Dirk's spine is noodles- just like most other Europeans. Hell, EVEN Yao is tougher than dirk and Yao is softer than jello.

Also, the NBA wanted Wade to become their new poster player, and that's why he got all the calls that no other player (besides Michael Jordan) would have gotten. The mavs couldn't breath near Wade without the refs calling a foul! Not to mention the rediculous calls against the Mavs, or the time when the Mavs were on a fast break, and the ref GOT IN JERRY STACKHOUSE'S WAY. The ref knocked over stackhouse, ended the fast break, then GAVE THE BALL TO THE HEAT. That whole series was a load of crap.

The REASON why wade gets alot of calls is because HE TAKES THE BALL TO THE BASKET and he's quicker than most players... simple as that. Two types of players go to the FT's a lot... post up players and very quick gaurds who take it to the basket... which is hwy DIRK doesn't go to the FT line often. Let's look at the players with the highest FTA/g this season:
1. D. Howard- 11.4
2. Lebron - 10.6
3. Iverson- 9.8
4. Corey Magette- 8.7
5. G. Arenas- 9.6
6. Wade- 9.2

Do you think it's a coincidence that 5 out of the top 6 of those players are NBA poster boys (all except Magette).... it's not, the people who look better in commercials are the people that get the calls. e.g., ya don't see T-Mac or Ray Allen high on the list cuz they likes to shoot outide shots more than attack the basket. The only things that surprised me about the FT Attempts/g list is that Yao and Dirk are ranked so high and that Duncan, Tony Parker, and Shaq are ranked so low (despite shaq's game falling). I'm not surprised at all that AK47 is ranked 69 but I CAN'T BELIEVE that Steve Nash si ranked 96th in FTAs. Nash is a popular player and if ur theory was coorect he'd be ranked higher.

OK, so your list shows that some players actually get to the free throw line without the help of the refs, that doesn't mean that they all do. Of course the players that rank high on the list will drive the hoop more, even the ones getting help from the refs, because the refs have to have a reason to call a foul. But just because you drive the hoop does not mean that you automatically get 2 foul shots.

Here's how it works- If your on an NBA commercial, and you sell tickets and jerseys and what not, and you have a tendency to drive the hoop- you will get a foul call, regardless of whether or not there actually was a foul on the play.
