  • I cannot like this enough.

  • they're terrible lol

  • Damn

  • haha I love that scream at 0:35

  • que locos! *u*

  • Wow... there stage presence blows...

  • i'd better stand a little further from the stage on their live because i'm afraid to get hit by foot in the face

  • This IS stage presence. no doubt!

  • I saw them last night and it was just about as insane as this.

  • wow.. something must have went really wrong at this show for them all to be electrocuted at the same time and for so long..

  • @DrWhiggs You're certainly entitled to your own opinion, however uneducated and ignorant it may be.

  • @Rowanffe Dillinger Escape Plans' next album should be called "Flailing: It's Cheaper Than Charisma."

  • @DrWhiggs how very witty, your parents must be so proud

  • @DrWhiggs You're fucking retarded.

  • @DrWhiggs What is "jazz" anyway?

  • @DrWhiggs listen too their songs widower and mouth of ghosts

  • @DrWhiggs I wish everyone was as open-minded as you...

  • I saw them open for Dream Theater....they were the fucking best.

  • Seriously. Dillinger Escape Plan is the best band ever at stage presence, making their live shows some of if not the best you'll ever see. Fucking have to see them before you die.

  • 1.19 almost bassist K.O from guitar neck... XD

  • ben was so much cooler w/o beard, he looked like a tough guy now he looks like a nerd

  • They play this flawlessly! How the hell can they do this?!

  • My Mind Might Never Be Found- I'm Losing It !! I Need To See These Guys Live Again !!

  • I was front row ripped on Mushrooms...sooooo goood!!!!

  • Straight from special olympics. Officeboys trying to act heavy.

  • @MikeyLHolm So they're "Officeboys" if they have B.A's and are jazzed trained musicians that can outwit/outplay almost every conventional metal band out there?

Sorry they don't wear all black and eyeliner like most "metal" bands out there today...everyone's a fucking critic.

  • @ChuckMcChip well fucking said! also they're one of the only bands who dont oerly edit their albums using Reason or Protools.

  • Sometimes I like to pretend Vin Diesel is screaming at me.

  • 0:35 = PTERODACTYL SCREAM

  • his scream at :35 LOLOLOL

  • nice. lol

  • Dillinger shouldn't be playing on a stage that small, not because they're big. Just because they can really hurt each other xD

  • I survived a Dillinger Escape Plan concert.

  • @monalisasmilesforyou someone i know told me she saw DEP. my response: "and you survived?"

  • The testipop scream at 0:35 made Greg sound like the singer from Dir En Grey, and it was awesome.

  • @Lizzzeg Greg, kyo and mike patton are the only people I have seen been able to do that scream.

  • @THEREALMOSH2

I guess I'll have to upload a video then. :D

  • @XSebbyMcMuffinX

    Btw, don't forget Devin townsend

  • If you like dillinger look up john zorns Naked City

  • @ncanino33 The point if their music is, in their own words, mostly to express the emotions of a free spirit. So with a band like this they rarely stick to a set melody if it's not expressing the exact emotion that they want it to... If you're looking for good melodies listen to Black Bubblegum, Gold Teeth on a Bum, Farewell Mona Lisa, or Chinese Whispers..

  • What's the point of being so technically good if you can barely hear a melody?

  • @ncanino33 what's the point of doing anything at all?

  • Perhaps I need stereo monitors to appreciate this band. I'm not trolling, and I really hope no-one flames me for saying this, but apart from the lick at @1:00 this song seems like a wall of noise. I can't really discern any variables within it. I mean, bands like Meshuggah are coined 'wall of noise' but there is definition and a degree of opaqueness to their music. With these guys, I just hear the lead singer screaming and alot of snare / crash. Maybe I just need to listen to them more.

  • I'm a huge DEP fan, yet I totally understand your feelings about this video. I personally love it. But if you don't know the song, it sounds a bit like chaos. I would recommend listening to the studio recording, again and again. It will eventually sink in. And then you'll have a major boner. Trust me. ;) You might even want to start with "Irony is a dead scene", the EP recorded with Mike Patton. It's easier to get into. But with a clean sound, Panasonic Youth is just perfect.

  • @Steveskies

It's the quality of this recording. Find a high quality video of the album version of this song. Get familiar with it, then come back to this video and you'll realize how tight they are while going absolutely nuts on stage.

  • @Steveskies you need to listen to it more times. I suggest you check out chris pennie playing this song on the drums or play the beginning in .7 speed and you'll understand what they're doing. Most people don't get it the first few times they hear it. I know I didn't. It definitely is not all chaos.

  • @metalmoshinbert75 They have some Metal elements, but I agree they're not Metal. TDEP is an Amazing band though.

  • why class music at all? why not class it simply as good or bad based on personal preference?

  • @metalmoshinbert75 oh! okay, that makes sense. thanks for making me see that haha

  • @metalmoshinbert75 Nowadays it's kinda useless define a metal band...what do we mean for "metal band"? Long haired guitarist, insane lead shredding???

  • Seems like people are more worried about what genre of music a band is these days... then the music itself.

  • @metalmoshinbert75 i think that theyre metal... haha, i think that mathcore and hardcore are subgenres of metal, i think that the fact that some people just consider this metal is crazy, they are a ton of different genres

  • This is badass.

  • I love how tiny the stage is.

  • @JoeRocksP

This is at the Knitting Factory in NYC.

  • Ben Wienman is a fucking machine. How the crap can you play that pretty much note perfect while convulsing like a lunatic?! Amazing

  • This was like watching acrobats: they kept coming inches away from bludgeoning each other in the face, but just barely escape it.

  • A fairly common stereotype in metal music is that metal bands go crazy on stage.

Dillinger Escape Plan laces that stereotype's coffee with liquid PCP and REINFORCES THE SHIT OUT OF IT!!!

  • i like how the two top comments are talking to each other lol

  • Holy crap! this band reminds me of the band "The Chariot". they also have some of the greatest stage presence I have ever seen. the guitars sound similar too

  • @lrayb12 - That's because The Chariot is very heavily inspired by Dillinger. And they learned really well from the masters, if I do say so myself.

  • I just love how Greg is pointing

on the crowd when he says things like "You lose" 0:48

  • This would have been so fucking good with the april fools 1911 effect.

  • best line up

  • this sounds like a sensible version of anal cunt aka CRAP

  • This is great comedy with the sound off

  • All thought he isn't here. But why did Chirs wear head phones? You can see it in some videos

  • @ComfortablyNumbAgain He's probably listening to a Metronome in those videos.

  • Sounds like a multi car pile up on the interstate being fast forwarded

  • 0:35 O.o

  • @7SethMurrant7 he sounded like a horse lol

  • What an awesome idea to do a gig in a closet!!!

  • lololololololol so bad

  • QUE MALDITOS GENIOS JODER

  • I cant stop laugh with this video xDDD they are fucking crazy

  • That was fuckin rad.

  • Nothing about this sounds awful if you know anything about music.

  • what the hell

  • Haha that guy at the end destroyed the amp

  • My dad is a 58 year old former jazz pianist and he fucking loves Dillinger.

  • @iAmAsteroid your dad is cool as fuck

  • @iAmAsteroid He sounds awesome.

  • @iAmAsteroid Coolest dad ever. I hope I'm like that when I'm 58.

  • @iAmAsteroid ...thats because hes a musician...

  • @farklenug

    well said, sir

  • @farklenug Exactly. I'm a drummer in a metal band but I literally listen to a little bit of everything except for pop and sell outs.

  • @iAmAsteroid Your dad is a fucking open-minded God.

  • @iAmAsteroid cool story bro

  • @kierandoyle1992 Thanks, brah.

  • @iAmAsteroid - he would!!!!

  • @iAmAsteroid Win at life.

  • @iAmAsteroid fucking awesome taste in music. i wish my dad liked dillinger...or jazz.

  • @mattoffthewall Keep in mind, that though my dad used to be musician, he's not a metalhead. I played him Dillinger because I knew he'd listen to something like "Panasonic Youth" and start giggling at the absurd time signatures and rhythmic shitfits.

  • @iAmAsteroid I don't believe you.

  • @iAmAsteroid tell him to look up Naked City!

  • @iAmAsteroid Clearly he likes good music!! =)

  • @iAmAsteroid Well, Dillinger have a fuckton of jazz influence, and jazz itself uses experimentation and technicality, so I can definitely see why.

  • its a good thing they have stage presence because this sounds awful

  • this is so shitty

  • @andersentaurean I'd have to agree. I like their music and enjoy the efforts they put onto their albums but they really need to tighten it up live and let the music speak for itself more than the stage presence. It's nice to have a good balance of both but Dillinger's live performances I'm afraid carry a bit of an expectation from the band to stay constantly animated or else the crowd won't get their money's worth.

  • Anyone know what venue this is? Looks like pirates cove/Peabody's in Cleveland

  • hahaha @ 1:19 xD Liam killed Brian(almost)

  • terrible.

  • @5monkeys Yes you are.

  • @davethehostage correct? yes as are you

  • Small stage? no problem here ;)

  • siiiiiiiiiiiiick

  • haha 0:47 was awesome

  • best line up

  • Come on... Fender Jazz bass? Really?

  • @fnuggie problem?

  • @fnuggie Fender Jazz's are the best, man!

  • @RhythmicJam Yes, for jazz... Single coil pickups don't have nearly enough pressence for metal... Any good musician knows this

  • @fnuggie when you're playing heavy metal bass, if you have humbuckers, chances are it's going to get muddy. it's a bass, it doesn't need screaming high gain distortion, it just needs a reasonable amount of power via a good amp and cabinet. any good musician should know this. besides, moreso, tonality is judged based on opinion. if he likes single coils, let him use single coils. if you like your muddy humbuckers through your generic ampeg 8x10 wall of shit, go ahead and use it.

  • @leeknivek (excuse my english, it's not my mother language) I play on two Yamaha humbuckers through a 4x10 + 1x15 Gallien Krueger stack which gives me a really high level of pressence and treble, but still keep the deep punch that i want for death metal. Talking about muddy, a jazz bass is just that to play on. When i go from my own to a jazz bass my fingers slow down and i'm having to turn up the amp more and more, loosing the clear, aggressive sound my humbuckers have.

  • @leeknivek btw, he plays on an Ampeg 8x10 "wall of shit" so... ;)

  • @fnuggie my bassist plays a schecter 5 string with jazz humbuckers with a coil split on it, and plays it through a super efficient (~105db speakers) ported 410 that is powered with 500 or so watts, and when he has his humbuckers on it's heavier but less punchy and more muddy.... it could just be his bass but regardless, fender just sucks in general, and i apologize for defending them knowing full well i hate them just as much *facepalm*

also, you can't hear any bass at all in this video

  • @leeknivek Yes you can?....I can hear the bass

  • @fnuggie Ok, please explain how it's worked out for Steve Harris then.

  • there's no matching their intensity! just try. you'll fail.

  • Is Chris playing a 20" kick in this video?

  • that was so so good

  • they gassed at about 0:22

  • omg at 1:20 the right guitarist epically dodged the bassist just like in movies

  • @cobyourself Haha! He just about got smoked.

  • achoo, ahaha im totally high

  • i feel bad for the people who can't understand the beauty and complexity of this music

  • 1:21 just missed

  • Bands like slipknot and the whole term "screamo" gives music like this a really bad name

  • @Firewarrior572 lol what the fuck are you even trying to say

  • I miss this era of DEP. I don't like the new record.

  • @errfury

everything they do is golden....even if it took my about a year to properly understand the greatness of ire works....dillinger are the only band i know who can play the most ridiculous technical racket and then burst out with the best fucking pop hooks the world has ever heard.

  • ew, that was disgusting. TDEP for life.

  • Greatest band if you have too much andrenaline in your body and just need to go fucking crimson!

  • Fake, music sucks and anyone can scream it takes real talent to sing.

  • @robertbright777 lol. fucking end your life.

auto classification as sucks just because he screams? my theory teacher siad that this was some of the most complicated music she'd ever seen.

  • Am I the only onw who noticed that Chris Pennie is using a THREE-PIECE SETUP!!! Snare, bass drum, floor tom, holy shit!

  • I actually can't wait to see these guys. I might not make it out alive. And I don't even care, what a way to go it would be!

  • @Rowanffe @iShred43 I actually used to be the same way. I saw them open for Megadeth and Dream Theater at the first Gigantour. Too much for me to interpret. Four years later, I really got into them. My favourite musicians now.

  • fuckin insane...

  • real crap metal.. ugh

  • @kataklysmatica not metal, metal/math core. learn2music

  • @latinalopez4206d9 learn 2 music? this isnt music.... its crap. if i shit myself i got even better music and its not even making sound! HAHA

  • @kataklysmatica if you knew anything about music you'd realize the complexity of dillinger escape plan is unmatched by anyone other then psyopus or meshuggah.

    so yes, please, learn2music.

  • @latinalopez4206d9 ohw i know complex music.. im into black metal myself. but this just is crap... meshuggah is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better then this crap.. and i can see how they get their views up if people like you comment on everyone they are crap.. we keep returning to tell you otherwise and thats how this shit music gets their views! TADA!!

  • @kataklysmatica ahhhh. so you're a douchey little metalfag who can't see any other music but "death metal". you probably don't even listen to good death metal either.

now i understand. thank you for clarifying why you're so bad at music!

  • @latinalopez4206d9 i said black metal not death meatl.. idiota! shows your intelligence hahaha. wank wank

  • @kataklysmatica hahaha oh boy, excuse me. that's even worse. fail bands like immortal and mayhem.

you have NO idea what complex music is then if you like black metal. so excuse me dummkopf for misreading, i assumed you weren't that musically backwards.

  • @latinalopez4206d9 Immortal and mayhem are ok. but i was talking about more underground black metal like abbysic hate etc.. but don't worry. i didn't know you were a selfish muslim jew raping your own mom with that tiny boner you get of dumb music like this. BOOOOM. oh.. was that you blowing yourself up for the love of your islam god that rapes your dog? cool :) *PUNCH 1488

  • @kataklysmatica hahahaha you like CULT BLACK METAL?! dude, just stop trying right now. you're digging yourself deeper into a whole. half of music to you is how much corpse paint the band is wearing.

also, lame insult. 2/10. troll harder or something.

  • @latinalopez4206d9 its funny all you cunts know is immortal and mayhem. shows how much you know, go listin to grand decleration of war. you faggot, thats *complex* you faggot posers. this music is shit, and this isnt *insane* its just gay. its beyond laughing point i actually almost feel sorry for them

  • @aXeBastard oooo you used cunt and faggot. you're so edgy and metal.

oh, hang on, i think your corpse paint is smudging. better fix it before someone thinks you aren't broooootal

  • @aXeBastard you closed-minded prick, this is a talented band.

at the very least i want you to explain how this is for posers?

there isn't a fucking "scene" for mathcore

  • @latinalopez4206d9 Yeah, I'd say they draw more from hardcore than metal.

  • makes me laugh that a lot of metal fans dont actually music when it gets too heavy, too intense...if they cant recognise DEP's talent they know nothing about music...i dont expect everyone to like them but at least appreciate it- i cant stand Stephen Sondheim's musical's for example, like Sweeney Todd etc..but i can still appreciate he has huge talent..

  • Mmmmm guess they would need a bigger stage

  • You know what's so funny, I love that all the homo anti-metal posers who come to trash on this video. DEP is fucking awesome and their music is purely magical. Fuck the haters.

  • the guitariest on the left, with the dark hair, is so hilarious. I think there is medication he can take to prevent those outbursts

  • i was so wrapped up in the awesome performance that i acidently pressed the dislike button sorry... but at least i admitted it.

  • It's the only music I can dance to because it almost has no rythm...and doesn't really sound like music(only joking:P)

  • rofl. id say thats more hilarious then *insane*. n the music is fukn horrible. rofl, 0:36, what the hell is that? sounds like a bitch.

  • @aXeBastard that's called a time signature that you would shit your pants trying to even comprehend.

  • Dude there's like Milk Lizard and then there's every other D.E.P song. Shit's crazy cool though.

  • @TheChippyRick Not really. There's Widower. Phone Home. Unretrofied. Black Bubblegum. Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants. Chinese Whispers. Parasitic Twins. Gold Teeth on a Bum.

  • W T F

  • have you people who are trashing this for not being tight ever listened to the song? sounds the exact same minus the shitty live quality and the occasional talked vocal by Greg..

  • DEP ripping the shit out of...well, everything! in a 2x4 complex.

  • when i muted it. it was great... even looked like they were rocking out.

  • a little to crazy...to the point where its just noise and jumping around..only thing tight is the drums

  • @TheCr0wing it's all tight. I think Chris Pennie is much better here than Coheed, actually, I don't think Coheed is a very good band.

  • @timeofthehero not anymore. old svchool coheed was bad ass and somthin new to the table totally sick. they solded out

  • Fricken awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this era was definitely the best DEP lineup

  • I love everything about D.E.P.

  • When I saw them, Greg came off the stage directly to me and put the mic to my face, and me and him sang the whole breakdown of Sunshine The Werewolf. I know it's not the song in this video, but I just wanted to share my experience since other people were too.
