ALL MODES are allowed between 26965-27405 with 4w and yagi antennas. Law soon changes to 12w SSB in the next months. And the lower channels, yep FRN and other things are legal and repeaters, talk from pc, freenet or pmr to the CB all allowed
I need advice from CB'ers familiar with either central Germany and the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain. I live in Germany (Heidelberg) with very weak German language skills and travel often to southern Spain with no significant Spanish language skills. If I were to buy a CB radio, would I find anyone, in either place, willing to communicate with me in English? In other words, would a CB radio purchase be worthwhile or a complete waste of money? Thanks.
100% that you will find people that speak English on the CB radio. The radio on this video clip is really a true machine I have one. An advice from a 25 year experienced CBer if you buy a radio buy a good one once instead of buying a cheap one and later upgrading for a better one spending money twice. Magnum S9 is one that I recommend. Hope this info helped.
Wonderful, eaglevision1983. I'll look forward to your report.
I'm a long time CB radio operator (since 1975). In fact, had a CB callsign (KBEO-0299) before FCC stopped issuing them years ago. I'm also an ex-ham radio operator. Didn't renew my license (W5NET) earlier this year.
Been thinking about getting back into CB radio, but have hesitated due to the language issue. Experience from someone actually on the radio here would go far towards settling those doubts.
It's funny you should mention this, as my GF noticed the same thing from a distance. But, it appears a lot worse in the video. It seems to happen after changing channel.
"In the flesh", the frequency and channel readout is perfectly normal.
It's a bit like that effect you get when you video record a CRT (normal screened) TV or computer monitor with a video camera.
i thought it was some kind of cool mod that you'd done! :-) I'm thinking about getting one of these radios as I like the look of them and have heard good reports on them. Had a Cobra 200 which was a complete waste of space, but this, looks nice! thanks for the reply, Happy Holidays!
They're a real nice rig, and they have great TX audio on all modes especially SSB. They are very well set up to their own stock mics and they have a built in speech processor.
This rig is a FusionRF tweaked one. They're a real looker too. The only downside is they have a slight bleedover issue if you like somewhere where their is lots of activity.
Something wrong with that radio, I can't understand a word they are saying until the end.

Interesting: in Italy we use normal band (26.965-27.405) and sometimes the upper band. Normally we transmit always on AM (this is an old tradition)

Maas 10amp PSU.
It has normal terminals around the back, and a cigar lighter socket around the front.
Bloody good PSU actually, I recommend them.

It is between 26.565 MHz and 26.955 MHz. From Channel 41 till Channel 80 in 10 kHz Steps (39 Channels FM).
auf Deutsch ( in german ) :
