I will say this:

Brazil, Argentina and Germany were my teams to win the 2006 World Cup. I never expected Italy to reach this far and was pissed when the Germans went down mere minutes before penalties to the Italians. And it didn't help my cause either when France beat Brazil.

Looking back at this semi-final again, Italy did outplay Germany and easily deserved to win the World Cup after that awesome goal and counterattack from Grosso and Del Piero respectively.

So Italy didn't win the big opponents like Germany and France in 90 minutes and really had luck they had to play against Australia and Ukraine.. France had to play against Spain and Brasil in the 8th and quarter finals. So in my opinion you cannot say Italy won in the WC in a better shape, they just had enough luck to win the cup...! That's not jaleous but nothing more than simply the truth...

I just mentioned my opinion as you can read. As I also wrote the facts Italy played less difficult opponents and they didn't beat Germany and France after 90minutes (Or can you deny it?). Congratulations by winning the cup, no problem for me to tell you.. And of course I would have been happy when my country won the cup in the same style, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to be objective now.. I'm just a football fan, the reason I had been watching movies like this one..

Australia in the 8th finals with a unfairly given penalty in the last minute after diving from Grosso, Ukraine in the quarter finals (which reached the last 8 by a group phase with Tunisia en Saudia Arabia and had Switzerland in their 8th finals), Germany in the semi finals in far extra time and France in the final after a missing penalty on the bar by Trezeguet..
