It's absolutely true. A suit must fit near perfectly. My technique? My suits are purchased off the rack in 40r and 35 waist but I have my tailor adjust the jacket so that it's snug around my torso. This creates a "V" taper effect that makes me look fit. The pants are reduced to a 32 inch waist with the legs adjusted/narrowed as well. When finished, the suit looks as if it was painted on me. Unless you can afford made-to-measure suits, an off the rack suit will require an additional $50 in alter

I wear Ray Ban Wayfarers 2140 with my suits and random women have stopped me to tell me how cool I look. Can't go wrong with the classics.

@varun009 then it's a wrong suit, a suit should always try to fix your, eh 'flaws" i guess. skinny people who wear oversized suits look terrible.

@varun009 unfortunately im not in that stage of life where I know a reputable tailor, due to my age and bank account. i only have two suits from H&M and Zara, they look pretty good for me. people my age generally dont appreciate suits so they always thought i spent a lot of money on suits.
