He actually got 2.5/3 out of 3, the Airport screens might be controlled by the DAA but information submitted into them is put in by the single airlines Station Control themselves daily for each flight, the system is AOMIS.
The Line up for the a/c stands and gates are given by the POD to each airline every evening and are to confirm if its ok, each airline decide on the line up per a/c and pax basis and change to suit their needs. When an a/c is delayed the POD ring and ask the air
To be fair the constant gate changing is the Airports Fault and Not Aer Lingus's and if my flight was delayed a month Id still prefer Aer Lingus I dont want to support Mick the Prick he is just terrible the way he treats his staff, and what you were saying about Aer Lingus being very dear before Every Airline was there was no Low fares airlines then and all airlines were dear
I couldn't agree more with you! Michael O'Leary makes it quite clear that: if your baggage is overweight, you'll be screwed. If you don't have your boarding pass printed, you'll be screwed. etc etc etc. What part of this do people not understand?! One thing I can't stand is people who give out about Ryanair, but yet fly with them at every chance. I must have taken over 100 Ryanair flights in the last 6 years or so and I don't recall ever having any major delays or issues with them.
Want's I flied Ryanair with a great friend of mine luckly the flight was ontime, the food was quite expensive, my friend told me naught to buy the cheese burger, since they sell cheaper ones in towns, but I braught one anyway. The business wasn't as bad as I thaught. Later on when I came back from the bathroom my friend asked me:"Did it cost?" I answered:"No." NO? He said. He looked very suprised. After the flight my stomach ached. I didn't know was It because I missed my mother or the seats.
Well I suppose any airline can have delays but it's just the no explanation that's frustrating, and I know Ryanair have been guilty of this too in the past
Listen, I do respect your opinion, but I mean when you fly aer lingus, it is better. The price differences aren't that greater in difference, and plus you fly to the main airports with legroom and good service. But I do agree with you on how people rant on ryanair, personally I think it's fine and if you get there alive and well for a cheap price, that's a good flight in my book.
I respect your opinion too but this fiasco happened in T2 and Ryanair were flying into Faro as well. It's not that long ago when if you went to London it was a long boat & train ride because very few could afford the £500 + that our "National Carrier" were charging and no doubt would stiil be charging if it weren't for the likes of Ryanair
I respect your opinion and i like micheal o leary for what he done for air travel. But i am an Aer Lingus man myself. Cant help a delay and ALL airlines have delays. Id much prefer to fly aer lingus and pay the little extra to fly to the main airports, fly from the new dublin airport T2, assigned seating and cabin crew on the flights that smile and that you can understand...

TV settings in the airport are the DAA.
Gate allocation (and numbering) are the responsibility of DAA.
The seat at gates are the responsibility of DAA.
Information on the info screens are the responsibility of the DAA.
Screaming brats on the flight is not the fault of the airline.
Giving passengers an explanation for a delay IS the job of the airline. You got one.
Ryanair do 'exactly what they say on the tin', yet people still think they can ignore the rules that are clearly stated.

@dacianmarine Ryanair doing 'exactly what they say on the tin' is the point I was making.
I got no explanation for the delay..
Airlines I am sure can have some input into how comfortable the gate area should be for their customers in case of delays.
Anyway my rants are just a bit of craic
