Guess again. Look inside of any optical disc drive and look at the LENS that is used to focus the laser onto the surface / subsurface of the CD/DVD/Blue Ray disc.

Actually you would easily. Your eye have rods and cones in the back to pick up light intensities and color. When an extremely bright light comes in the eye, the tissue gets damaged by that light. While getting hit with a laser like this may cause a "black spot" in one area of vision, you will be able to still see except for that spot. Light travels much faster rate than your pupil and your eye would get the full blast of light. This is why we do not look directly into the sun.

After mine broke(the one in the video) I bought one on a website called dealextreme. They are alot nicer and work wonderfully. I have had my new laser for about a year and it hasn't broken yet.
Its about 20 usd on the website - I would recommend a100mw. Best of all they are green,red or purple if you want.
One bad thing about it - is that it take a long time to ship - about a month cause it is out of china.
Its not a question of it working or not - Check the description for the reason. The diode is not meant to be used this way and dies as soon as the power overloads.

Its not a question of it working or not - Check the description for the reason. The diode is not meant to be used this way and dies as soon as the power overloads.
