will someone please, please post the original recording. NOT a live version, please, and with another group at that! the performance, of course, was tarnished somehow. I think any group will suffer that, too. that's why groups such as the Bee Gees (example only) have soloists as guests (like Celine Dion!)
grifhinx, you're doing sound critique on audio that was recorded on a cellphone? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! wow!!!!! I think you are an A@#$%^^&*s H)*^%%$%le!!!!! F.U.!
What a pity that such poor recordings are allowed to remain on youtube when the original (pure) recordings are nowhere to be found. It's torture to listen to this.
Yup. Steve Haas is the man!!! I do want to say that although I am a fan of the Company and the Manhattan Transfer, they didn't actually do justice to one of my favirite songs. It probably would have been better if they didn't sing this song together. They didn't blend properly. The collaboration was better when they sang in the early 90's. So sorry if I hurt any feelings.
Ooh, I shudder at your wisdom. I'm still sorry if I hurt any feelings. All I'm saying is that my comments aren't personal. Just want to point out something technical. I had good intentions with what I said; however blunt and critical it may seem. So the criticism and apology is still valid as far as I'm concerned. So there.
any need for sarcasm there? or just to fill space? never mind that though but just because you had good intentions doesn't mean your criticism was good along with apology. it's hard to even recognize that what you're saying i'm guessing is something you're intending as constructive criticism. in fairness though your critique wasn't even that significant as technicality doesn't seem to be the main focus here. somehow the fact that they got to sing w/ their "idols" was the highlight. so why bother
hmmm...you seem to clearly know what your talking about. i marvel at your ability to know what i am thinking about more than myself! yeah, o.k. whatever you say chum. i guess i should go just go somewhere where "opinions" are accepted. hail grifhinx!
by the way, what is your context of technicality? Isn't a critique of vocal blending considered as a "technicality"? oh, and when people pay to watch a high end concert, "singing with your idols" just simply doesn't cut it.
more sarcasms? or even lesser things to REALLY say? it's obviously the latter but hell i'd rather rub it in your face anyway.
and were you even listening? i wasn't giving a damn about the technicality since day 1 boob! and high-end? more like high-profile and nothing more - just a prestigious. NOT a singing contest
whatever dude. it's very simplistic to pin it on the "it's not a singing contest" alibi. hey, i paid to watch that concert and i was totally satisfied until the merger happened. we paid to hear that song sung properly. clearly not the outcome. the Manhattan Transfer was definitely magnanimous. God bless them. i'll make myself more clear for your benefit. I AM a big fan of the Company. but they clearly didn't do well when they sang with the Manhattan Transfer in their last concert in Araneta.
double posting for more irrelevance? you're good. you're really good.[/sarcasm]
oh and YOUR alibi of paying for that concert? well if the only thing that will entertain you in this life is just doing and getting things done right and perfect, then i'll just say that you're boring not to mention a perfectionist an elitist and a snob.
sheesh. this thread is starting to become immature. you bothered commenting on my opinion in the first place and now your not willing to accept a point. why don't you go back to your video games cum music video. your intellectual masturbation is boring me. yeah, keep on telling yourself that i'm an elitist and a snob. i'm sure you'll feel a lot better. yeah, ok, i suck at arguments. maybe because i'm liked most of the time. hahahahahah... (what a dum-dum).
try to amuse me even more. and a point? what's left to accept from you when everything you've said are pretty much contradicted already? you gave out opinions (not facts) and nothing more easily countered easily contradictable. and why even bother telling that you're liked "most of the time"? that's definitely the most pointless thing you've said in this "thread" you're in. hard to even believe that there could be possibly be a connection between that and the argument in general.
they did a better job back in '92. i guess that was because they still had most of the original members. so chill grifhinx. it's not like you're one of the Company... or are you? hahahahaha! to sum up my point, i have two words... more practice. sorry Company. just be professional enough to accept constructive criticism and you'll do better next time.
getting way too obvious now. perhaps you shouldn't bother wasting comment space. & it is a duh that it's not singing contest. & even if it were an alibi you still couldn't manage to contradict or even counter it just shows how much (although very obvious now) you suck at arguments. & you're calling what you're saying as constructive criticism? i already said yours was hardly such. you're not even suggesting anything for improvement other than telling the company to get off the stage and get lost
for anyone else reading this thread: i'm gonna stop replying to this dork 'cause he can't seem to understand that different people have different tastes and opinions. well, i'll just have to give way to immaturity. so let it be known that when i see his future comments in my inbox i will simply erase them. and if he still replies to this, it only proves he's really a loser. nice meeting the rest of you open minded individuals! God bless!
just let me see you try. oh and you're not worth the special attention, really, so quit expecting that i'd end up in your inbox shooting words at you. that's just pompous, come to think of it. oh and keep stressing the word loser... you might hear it as a name for you.
i'm sorry did you even say that? well let's just go back to your 1st comment, why don't we?
"...they didn't actually do justice to one of my favirite songs. It probably would have been better if they didn't sing this song together. They didn't blend properly..."
whatever replies that come next, well, screw them. you should've said your "more practice" way back in the 1st place.
