I know the movie put two of the Vampire Chronicles together, and changed some things a bit, but this scene is so wonderfully played out, you could not get more turned on or fearful than seeing Akasha burn those back stabbing vampires into ashes. Worst Vampire Movie ever! This also ruined Anne Rice's novel, The Queen of the Damned. They fucked up the original story and characters so much! Aaliyah did not fit Akasha's description what so ever, and there was no goth rock/atmosphere...Anne wrote the story during the 80s, before Goth.

I love Aaliyah's voice and how she gets into her role as Queen Akasha. The headpiece/jewels are quite unique and even the way she moves is phenomenal. This is probably my favourite scene in the entire movie. I also like the part where she says 'Really? Is that what you're going to do?' In a tone that also subtly gives the audience the impression she is really saying 'we'll see about that'. Love it!

In this universe, as vampire age, their abilities increase. In True Blood, some can fly and are the whim of their maker. In Bram Stoker's Dracula, the Count could change into mist and animals. So it all depends on the type of movie or even book you are reading.

@MarnyCromwell09 It all depends on the type of vampire universe, for lack of a better description, you are dealing with. Twilight vampires can not only withstand the sun but glitter like vampires. In this universe, as vampire age, their abilities increase. In True Blood, some can fly and are the whim of their maker. In Bram Stoker's Dracula, the Count could change into mist and animals. So it all depends on the type of movie or even book you are reading.

I think at times one of the women I most wanted to be was Akasha. She chose Osiris for me, he has been the only man of color I have ever made love to. He is a great man. I can't quite get it or let it but I think he is a great God. I don't want to lose him or leave him but I think its not the ultimate match. I can say he is not my ultimate fantasy but some of his attributes are really whew nice!! Yeah he's better looking than D.Washington so who is complaining?

I have always hated trying to bond in friendship & having pigment be a factor. Its not about color as Akasha is one of my truest adorations. I have yet to fully fall in love with a man of color. Osiris is a good man no doubt. I have friends of color & some I fancied. The Annunaki have a dark sister & her brother (half perhaps) that are rather stunning & sweet. This one New Orleans Voodoo child boy is interesting..he is dark but his features are fine. hmmm?
