@warforlips Solid reinforced concrete/cement block, we ditched all wood a few years ago because of rot and bugs. Only one interior wall with studs, sheet rock. Inspect every year.
roflmao i cant believe i haven't seen a comment like this any wheres else. and truthfully that's probably what i would use one of them for. but i have never seen termites up close. i only find carpenter ants....and im not sure which is worse
in the info section the scentence "While termite house and structure damage can be very difficult to control their conversion pathway of woody polymers to sugars that can then be fermented into fuels such as ethanol." doesnt make sense. perhaps the addition of "can be usefull.' would work.
Are you familure with the wood gassification prosses? I bet you could build a Charcoal furnace that made fuel gas by heating an oxigien free canister full of rotting plant matter, the gas vented when ported to a propane carburator will run an engine.
The glass distorts the light. Teleconverter zoom 2x and 3x do the same thing when pushed to the maximum. Super high The better the glass the less distortion you get at maximum zoom or macro.
This glass I used was $800 optical glass the, close rainbow shots are about 3x beyond what any macro lens I have seen is possible supporting. Camera built in lens 240mm + digital zoom, this borders on microscopic at optimal. The depth of field was about 1/2 a termite:-)
What's the big idea on interrupting the peace of those creatures, and even killing a few them, for the benefit of your ego? This was not a scientific enterprise, or defense act, and it bothers me to see how the little ones suffered from the terror that you introduced in their lives.. Eh! I am canceling my subscription to your terror.
These critters cause structural damage and then the building collapses on our heads. Where are they? I'm gonna run them over with my firetruck. lol :)
these guys invade my house when they are in their winged form, we basically have to close all opening to prevent them from entering. It's almost like a horror movie.

Personally I'd recommend mixing termite and honey ant dna with whatever insect has the highest concentrations of flammable oils in it's body.
Then a balloon of diesel analogue could grow in their abdomen. It's a bit frankenstein, but they could be the best thing since bees.
Not sure if you're the right crowd to go for that though.

how come if you zoom in too far the colours get weird, like you see the spectrum? I have the same with my super macro lens on my canon.

It's because the glass used on the lens isn't a high quality.
