Saw her in Berkeley a few nights ago. One of the great concerts in my life. Unforgettable. She's a channel for deepest emotion - both joy and grief - sometimes, it seems at the same time.

However, this video is one of the only I've been able to find which, for me, captures her special qualities. Most everything, even her records, seem over produced. Does anyone know where one might find more of this simpler, flamenco based sound?

@trachtenbergarch I was also at that show in Berkeley. You should listen to Chavela Vargas' music as well, since Concha dedicated an entire album to her music. As far as flamenco, doing a search on iTunes might give you some leads.

@trachtenbergarch I would suggest iTunes also - a good way to get a sense of the flamenco you might want to hear. Also, it is a great way to also listen to other collaborators on those albums where you will discover other guitarists, singers, styles, etc.

I would recommend Camaron de la Isla, El Cigala, Rosario or Chambao to start - see where that takes you.
