Counting Crows, Cracker, Goo-Goo Dolls, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Belly, Screaming Trees . . . The soundtrack for my college years. Great times, great memories.
I still listen to this on my I pod.I listen to a lot of 90s music .I was in my 20s in the 90s and there was a lot of good music in the 90s. This album was and always will be one of my favorites. There is nothing as good as this today. I am not dismissive of todays music just because I like the 90s.I wishe there were good bands like these guys .I love hearing good new music but most of it sucks
I remember being on the boat with my dad when I was little (like 6 or 7) and now I listen to this CD and know every word of every song. I can't help but think back to the good old 90's
I remember my mom told me when my great grandma passed away, she listened to this song for weeks. one of my grandma's just passed away and i went straight to this song.
@annagrow1 I dunno i like caramels, but now and laters are ok. But I prefer those honey hard candies or mints you get at restraunts,. Oh, Yah, I would definitely choose this album, even tho I think lollipops are considered hard candy... I like the ones with bubble gum.......oh yeah and then there's ice cubes, but their not candy.
This is one of the first albums to get me to listen to every song, not just the hits...and one of the albums to shape (or warp?) me during my formative years.
I saw Counting Crows open up for Cracker at Flamingo Grill in Knoxville, TN in the Spring of 1993. I was a Junior at UT. Mr. Jones had JUST been released as a single. Everybody was like "who the hell is this?". If we'd only known then what we know now about this amazing band. Man, what a great time to have been in college.
This album is a masterpiece. Can anyone out there imagine anything close to the quality of this album being released today? In my opinion this very well could be the best album of the 90s' The Replacements all Shook Down U2 Achtung Baby,New Miserable Experience By Gin Blossoms these are some of the best albums of the 90s' and of course Recovering the Sattelites another underrated album. The 90s' was the last great decade of music.Black Crowes Shake Your Moneymaker don't forget that
@mrsspargel season 2 episode 6 "my first steps" starts with J.D talking to a young kid who was injured skateboarding and the song plays at the end when J.D and Elliot go bungee jumping... probably on of my favourite scrubs scenes :D
i love this song because this was my dads favorite song, he always played this song with us in the car. before he died of brain cancer. that is why i am favoriting this
@VGFanatic my dad just passed away in May and I hear songs that bring back so many great memories of him. I'm sorry for you loss but as long as you have your memories he will never really be gone.
i heard them perform a combination of "thunder road/round here" on howard stern and i swear i thought i was going to cry. call me a fag, but that really moved me.
Once in a life time does a band come up with the best lyrics in every song on one album.. how is it possible.. and wow wow wow.. how many times bad and good do those lyrics stick!!
God, this song is so heartbreaking and yet the music is so happy - quite an effective combination! It's the story of my life - nothing but heartbreak but I keep smiling through it all.....
