Very well written and beautifully played. I do however find the echo on your oc, and the lack of echo on the piano (or less of it) make the two sound more separated like they almost don't go together. But that is only a very minor thing. BTW Texas is awesome, but the pics make it look like a giant grassland where the deer and the antelope roam, which it is everything but. Lol.
@kingnahum17 I can definitely see what you're saying here. This was before I had learned about pre-delay. I should have backed off the piano a bit and cut the midrange while using the exact same reverb on both the piano and the ocarina. Doing this would have had it hit the mix a bit better. In later videos you may start to hear this technique materialize.
oh... my god. With every video, you get more and more awesome! I can only hope that I get half as good at playing the piano as you are with the ocarina. That would be a blessing.
@PianoOnWheels Thanks. I didn't take the photos but I tried to find ones that captured Texas really well. My favorite picture of the bunch is the one of the bats.
Is that a purple clay? It looks very clean. I also love the colour. I would maybe make the ocarina a bit louder. Hard to hear when you play lower. other then that. A nice song to play when you want to relax :D Great playing!
Woah. just came to the Soprano. Like the change. great job.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure if the ocarina is made from purple clay, but it does look a lot like purple clay to me. I know that Mr. Pan likes to experiment with different designs, clays and firing finishes for his ocarinas.
One of the most inspiring pieces ever, made even better by you. You have such talent! This is extremely...GAH! Words cannot explain the beauty of this! Darn, this is amazing...so inspiring, this makes me want to get an ocarina again. Mine broke in a terrible car accident, but that really doesn't matter anymore, I'm going to save up my money to buy another ocarina again. Consider yourself lucky. You just inspired a little kid like me. So beautiful..I'm crying. Amazing job! Keep it up. :')
It's very nice to see you start branching out, in your videos, to other ocarina names aside from the ones offered from STL. I don't see a lot of ocarinas used in youtube videos that are outside of the (now normal) Songbird, Hind, STL(TNG/WPN), Mountain, Focalink and Maparam brands. Even Spencer Ocarina video are rare.
As for this video, it's this kind of music that makes me love ocarina. The warm and melodic vs the bright and fast. Sojiro is incredible, as far as I'm concerned.
The ocarinas I prefer tend to be the ocarinas I play the most, which end up as youtube vids, but you'll probably like my 100th vid. I'm going to try to do a video of my entire ocarina collection.
This is really beautiful! :)
