  • good music

  • He (the dog) cheated a little at 5:18 :P

Was cool to see him trying to anticipate the move.

  • beautyfull video i love dogs xd doberman and german shepherd best dogs ever

  • Dobermans are so cool and strong.......I have 2

  • yeah its a shame they are trying to carm the breed down they were the best german attack dog i hope breeders have not breed that out of them

  • Bring back the old time sharp aggressive dobermann

  • gosh, shut the music off PLEASE!

  • I'd trust my life with a Fila Brasileiro or Caucasian Ovcharka before a Doberman.

  • @BluntActivist2008 news flash. no one cares.

  • @theUTCclub Let me guess: you love dobermans dont you? You obviously cared enough to post a comment back to me. And Ive gotten many responses on other videos with people agreeing with me favoring those two breeds over most typical guard dog breeds like rottweilers and dobes. So yes, some people do care actually. One fact remains though: even if you genuinely dont care, I certainly don't care that you don't care ;)

  • Great vid! For more info on working dobermans visit the Working Dobermann Forum at USADoberman . net

  • Lovely :) we have two Dobies in protection work :) great dogs they are!!! Love them.

  • dobermans are cool guard dogs !:)

  • this may seem like a dumb question, but i would appreciate an honest, educated answer from anyone who knows..

but, ive noticed that dobies are always called guard dogs, but every video ive ever seen of them, they just latch onto an arm. would they be able to stop/ bring down a big man that was trying to get into my house? i mean im 230 lbs. i feel like if a dog just bit my arm like this i could fight it off...

  • @4wang2chung0

IMO those videos you've seen the man is probably no stranger to the dog therefore the dog will be carefull in the practice but when a dog attacks a stranger it goes to warrior mode becoming more vicious in its attacks and bites, trust me no robber will enter your house if you have a purebred Doberman, Rottweiler and GSD unless he shoots the dog but Doberman are known to be sneaky, IMO Doberman are by far the best breed!

  • @4wang2chung0 Well It may seem possible now, but I mean, honestly if they bite down on your arm and pull it will rip you skin and freak you out so yeah. also why get bit my a dog when you can just rob the neighbors?

  • i have a question, how old was your dog in this video?

  • Look at the focus on the dog, awesome mate just brilliant, you Sir HAVE control.

  • @antimong Well thank you very much for the compliment! Max was a great dog.

  • @familydobes Thats a very nice doberman you have their. He is a very solid looking dobie, not one of those small fancy dobies.

  • great video!! we love the music don't turn it off! maximus is a beautiful specimen! we have dobes in training now...three serbian imports, going on 14 (11 puppies on the way!!!) can't wait!

    keep up the great work!

shady lane dobermans norcal. country boys will survive!

  • Awesome vid!!!!! specially the part with the kid!!!! thumbs up!

  • i'll be honest here.. i honestly thought that Dobermans were vicious dogs, but ever since my first time i was around one at the pound for doing community service for a class at my high school, i must admit that they are awesome dogs now. i don't think that they're truly vicious. the only reason they can be vicious is the way they are trained and treated really. but other than that.. awesome dogs =D i'm a fan of them now.

  • typewriter grip...he keeps regripping.....more prey work is needed to firm up that grip

  • This was very early in his training but he always had great character from the start.

  • that doberman is a monster

  • DON'T CUT DOG'S!

  • shut up

  • Music ruins the video.

  • good boy! :)

  • Have a "Star Eyed Defender" the ultimate guard and family dog. The Dobermann only comes second to an ABPT

  • are u saying pitbulls are better guard dogs then doberman? that is not true doberman are like 2 or 3 ranked but not behind APBT i cant for the life of me think of witch breed is first, pitbulls make horrible guard dogs, dont get my wrong i love them and i have one of my own but they were not bred to guard they were bred to help farmers with bulls and later to fight (i dont fight mine) but yea dobermans are awesome i also have a doberman, o yea gorgeous doberman!! greaqt vid

  • and just how does the doberman suck as a guard dog if it is considered to be the second best breed for guarding.

  • wots the 1st

  • what's the best in your opinion?

  • cuz they'er too unprdictable and turn on owners

  • please tell me me you dont actually think that stupid rumor of dogs, especially the doberman turning on their owners is true. if you are a firm and consistant leader, you will never run into such problems. And dogs that ''turn on their masters'' dont betray you. They just dont see you fit to be a pack leader. In a wolf pack the leader is always the strongest wolf. If the leader becomes weak another wolf will step into the leader role thus insuring the survival of the pack. This is what dogs do.

  • in fact the best guard dogs and personal protection dogs are often the most loyal dogs you can find. However they are generally very dominating. In other words they will try to fill the leader role, IF the are not convinced that you are 100% leader. If you are unstable emotionally or meek the dog will try to take over and do what he thinks is right to ''save'' the pack. This is why many dog breeds such as pit bulls, rotties, dobermans, akitas and even chihuahas have gotten a bad image.

  • no you're just stupid and ignorant

  • We have had dobermans all my life and they are not unpredictable and won't turn on their owners. Our dobermans knew who was the leader of the pack and where their place was. They just need firm handling, they even knew that my 18mth old sister was above them in the pack. They are highly intelligent, loyal dogs.

  • You can't really believe that hollywood nonsense from an old 70's movie called htey only eat their masters...

  • @weo1weo1weo1 dude thats way too stereotypical. I supposes your just a chihuahua and lab lover huh?

  • my rottweiler - mastif x died. im going to get a doberman soon

  • horrible muzik. nice dog though

  • which is the better guard dog male or female ?

  • I would have used a male.

  • if its a doberman , female of course.

  • Max is about 29" to the withers and about 100 pounds. Females bred to the FCI standard are about 26" and about 75 pounds. There is a link to the standard on my website.

  • who is more agressive and powerful a doberman or a german shepherd dog ?

  • german shepard

  • yep , i know that , but im just askin cz people think the doberman is.

  • that is all relative, there are great dogs of both breeds and lousy ones too.

  • Wow what is the hight and weight of that dog? He looks enormous. And if I want a bitch, about how much do they weigh and what is the height of an average doberman bitch and dog? Thanks my friend. What an incredible animal.

  • This is a dog I trained for a client, generally there are things you do at a young age to prepare dogs for this, but the formal training shouldn't start with a Dobe unitl about 18 months old.

  • Hey Steve, Hank here. great video, is that dog one of yours or a clients? How old should the dog be when you start training for this type of protection? Your son is quite the little man and I applaud you for his interest in common with you. Nice job. Kimi says hello!

  • very proud breed i always wanted one

  • This man breeds a very desirable dog, we have had one of his puppies for 6 months now and she is wonderful, smart, great manners and a great temper. Check his web site, and pick out a dog, you will enjoy your new family member with great pride.

  • When you get bit by your own dog, they never take protection seriously, it changes it to a game, there are things you can work on, but never on defense or it changes the relationship.

  • my friend just a question. while doing bite work, have someone else in a suit getting bit..i as the owner command my dog.. is it ok for me to get bit as well?? or should i just keep it the as it is? thanx my friend great dog! ima dobie guy myself :) his name is Aries :).

  • Your son and dog(s) are fantastic. You should be so proud. You've inspired me to get a doberman and follow the exact same routine. I've always had a deep respect for the breed.

  • many dogs yes, some people train their dogs to target the man, many trainers allow their dogs to become equipment oriented. There is also a big difference between civil dogs and sport dogs.

  • when dogs see the sleeve do they know its just practice?

  • No mistakes allowed :) You must have a great deal of control and discipline, and know the dog. In this scenario the dog is protecting the kid.

  • Very nice :-) Great dog :-) But isn't it a little dangerous with the little kid at the end? What if the dog accidently makes a mistake and grabs the kid? Just a question out curiosity :-)

    Grtzz

  • Yep I have heard of it, as you can see I am the one being bit in the video, not running the camera, it is being run by my nine year old son who did a fantastic job for his age. Ever heard of manners and tact? Do you make it a habit to go around life being critical of everyone and what they do? I am sure I can find faults and weaknesses in your life to exploit to.

  • lol.

    Kick ass dog.

I've always wanted a trained dog.

    They're so much happier.

  • Ever heard of zooming in? The subject is tiny for 99% of the entire video!

  • cool bro
