The music fits perfectly, as the whole theme of the game seems to be pointless carnage. Everything the characters built got destroyed: The Terran Dominion was just as bad as the Confederacy, the Zerg took Aiur, then lost it, the UED failed, the Protoss and Zerg also end up back at square one.
