  • Great recipes, cool video with a lot of good tips! Thanks for all the info!

  • First of all Cool Hat..LOL. ok yes my oven is off by 25 degrees course its also older than me maybe really close to my mothers age. LOL..so yes I need a New Oven Badly. However, I agree one thing hubby n I always argue over in the kitchen is what temp the food should be when cooked. I keep telling him that for it to be 140 degrees when served it need to cook to about 160 degrees. Great Video Everyone should have a thermometer in their kitchen, I do!

  • A thermometer is a great tool to have when cooking a turkey. How many cases of food poisoning could be prevented by cooking to the correct internal temperature?

  • Hey Todd! Thanks for the tip. It never occurred to me to check the internal temperature instead of just depending on the oven. Thanks!

  • I thought I would be redirected to Willie's cooking video! This guy has a cool hat on

  • Wow, this guy is really neat to learn cooking from

  • I really like a probe style thermometer, like the Polder. It has a probe that goes in the bird, or whatever you are roasting, which attaches to a "brain" that stays outside the oven, and beeps when your roast reaches the desired temperature.

This COMPLETELY eliminates any guesswork. No need to open the oven door to check the temp, then guessing that it needs another 20 min, or checking too late and discovering your roast is already overdone. And the readout is right there and easy to see.

  • Informative and very interesting

  • This is an important thing to know. Thanks for the tip!

  • Great point, I use a digital thermometer set to less than 165 so that it gets up to 165 when I take the bird out and it's resting. That said, well done, informative but not boring info.

  • Chef Todd, what happened to all the old episodes of Cooking Coarse that used to be on Youtube. Those were my favorite and now I have to suffer Alton Brown and all his Good Eats recipes. Bring Back cooking coarse.

  • @NikySportsPromotion - The "Cooking Coarse" episodes that aired from August 2008 to June 2009 were a beta-test that became WebCookingClasses. The 200 videos were re-edited and placed in a more logical order to teach cooking. If you'd like to be re-united with those videos, go to my website for a FREE 14 day trial in WebCookingClasses.

  • Very informative!!! Thanks!
