A slower tempo than usual, I think, but still lovely performances by both Barrientos and Hackett. The latter was a stalwart at The Chicago Opera, together with other great tenors such as Schipa, Hislop, Muratore, and Ansseau, as well as Muzio, Raisa, and Galli-Curci among the sopranos at that time, and Ruffo, the great baritone. The present performance may not replace for me the Schipa and Galli-Curci recording, but it is excellent singing nonetheless. Thank you for posting!
Charles Hackett tenor
