Is this a dangerous walk for a woman? It looks rather deserted, but I am interested in walking the canal paths and Thames Path. Are there any areas you would warn me about ?
@gdholmfirth If you want to do this walk I would suggest you do it on a fine Saturday or Sunday. On these days there are loads of cyclists and joggers on the path. Obviously, don't do it late in the evening. Choose a nice sunny day and there will be even more people about on the path, The same advice applies to the Thames Path from Tower Bridge westwards. Exercise caution on the stretch of the Thames Path from the Thames Barrier to Tower Bridge. If you want any more advice message me.
funny vid, although i am not sure if you meant it to be funny or not..... on a serious note you should have carried on and walked to greenford as you would have walked through/ past horesden hill, sudbury hill golf course and the old IBM fields which are all really nice
nice vid, I would have liked to see better the aquedute(sorry if i got it wrong), it must be very interesting and we hardly see it. But very interesting videom congrats
This is the same route a take for my long runs 30k to 40k on weekends ,if you go after Alperton you will be amaged how nice it is and Greener too. thanks for the vid
Hi, i used to be the maintenance contractor for british waterways from ladbroke grove to bulls bridge, cutting grass and hedges i stopped in june 2008. just out of interest how are the towpaths along this section being maintained?.
The towpath- as you must know- is completely paved between Little Venice and Alperton. I walked this route a few days ago and there were no problems. I have no idea what the towpath is like beyond Alperton at the present time.
Nice video... I'm curious... is there a reason why you took this route?
I also have to add that I live around the Industrial Estate area... those bridges do amaze me and the brick up building nearby the power station.
Also the Red bus is a junkyard. they keep recycled furniture, metal deco and other junk and resale them. There a human figure dummy in the driving seat.
Thank you I enjoyed this, as 4O years ago I lived in Alperton, with the Canal running along the end of my garden. I loved to take the dog for walks along it, and often visit various other canals to walk, they are so restful and often interesting.

Just out of interest, what did you have to eat and drink on your picnic?

I took several bars of chocolate and a plastic bottle of tap water.
