  • I hate grains, they make me shit my panties.

  • @mandog987654 (CON'T)

"Who says we were ever supposed to make tofu, or soy milk, or all that shit. So you telling me that baby cows are the only people supposed to drink milk, but you say you can eat all these processed shit things and not keep it as we should." I never advocated eating those particular items, and cows are not people.

"Have a Paleolithic diet like me." I have looked into it. It's far better than the Standard American Diet, but I don't think it's ideal.

  • @FM897 I just love killing animals. i actually bought a new gun today to go hunting. Animals are not people like you said :) So with the proper license i can kill as many fuckers as i want! :D

  • @mandog987654 Dude, I don't get offended by that kind of talk. It just makes you sound silly and means that you have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation.

  • @FM897 does being vegan make you think youre better than everyone else?

  • @mandog987654 No, I don't feel that way at all. Does being a meat eater require you to assume all vegans are alike?

  • @FM897 it requires me to assume youre a dumb emo bitchhhhhhhhhhh!

  • @mandog987654 LOL that's really too bad. You'll miss out on a lot of good people by making such generalizations.

  • @FM897 not missing out on you, dumb emo cunt

  • @mandog987654

"Keep a fucking balanced diet and don't eat like a fucking pig." This is the most common dietary advice we're given, but it's too vague to be useful.

"To totally cut any kind of meat out of your life is stupid." Many people thrive by doing so.

  • Take a look at the living hell that is a factory farm and maybe you'll get it about veganism. There are even vegan body builders (for all you manly men worried about your male image). Who wants to eat the flesh of an animal who has been brutalized it's entire life? Common sense ought to be enough to show the smart way. Watch "Farm to Fridge". That will put doubters over the top. I am a vegetarian of 25 plus years and it is no sweat and I feel very healthy.

  • where do you get off on your saintlyhood of not eating meat? DO YOU THINK A CHICKEN GIVES A DAMN WHEN IT EATS A LIZARD? ITS NATURE.

    ARE PLANTS NOT ALIVE TOO?

The only thing those vegans do is try to get a stupid feeling of superioty to ppl who eat meat.

I eat vegan for health reasons. I don't have anything against vegans who don't want to kill animals, I have a friend like that, thats her opinion, but being so militant and closed minded that you feel ppl who eat meat should die?disgusting.

  • It's good to know what vegan dishes are at a restaurant and if you can get substitutions. I HATE salads lol as a vegan I condemn salads, and love pastas, soups, stir fries or big dishes. Anything eastern is a good idea, they have a lot of good dishes to choose from. But my thing is to be courteous and polite, and not make a big deal in front of your family or friends. I always thank them for accommodating me if the meal is full of substitutions lol

  • Most resturants I have been to have been very nice about my veganism and have even helped me find something on the menu to eat.

  • i went to a seafood restaurant last week. there was almost no vegan things on the menu but as a vegetarian the only thing i could eat was pasta alfredo no ham the waitress kept on bugging me with other meats. if i were vegan the only thing i could have had was salad or plain white rice lol horrible restaurant.

  • Sum fokes nead too chek wut thay tipe befor hiting th pots buttun

  • Honestly it sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about... try researching on the internet instead.

  • I would never sit in a restaurant and ask them to specially make my food dairy free. it's too much work. who has time for that as a chef when they have so many other dishes to prepare?

I'm vegetarian and when I go out to eat I just simply ask for a dish "without the meat".

  • Which is the way it should be. I don't go to your house and ask you to cook me a burger, so don't come to my restraunt and demand that I create a special dish just for you. Vegetarians are generally very courteous, but every once in a while you get a vegan that cannot be satisfied.

  • @230kimmie I guess it comes down to which you think is worse:

1 - being a minor inconvenience to the staff (and tipping them generously when they are helpful and nice, which they often are!) OR

2 - supporting the dairy (or meat) industry and its cruel practices

I was a vegetarian for almost 9 years, and became vegan a month ago when I learned that the dairy and egg industry are no less cruel than the meat industry. If you care about animal rights, you shouldn't be consuming eggs or dairy.

  • @jdmillar86 Whoops. Posted that last message under my partner's YouTube account. Last message by kimberlily1983, not jdmillar86.

  • @jdmillar86 It's more of a problem in America. I live near the egg farm that supplies my supermarket and it looks just fine. It's free range.

Still, I don't eat eggs, just in case. Plus, any food that has egg as an ingredient will likely be a battery egg, not free-range.

  • @230kimmie If you're paying, I'd expect them to do it. It's less work using less ingredients

  • I bet if you try this at a restaurant the cooks would spit in your food for being extremely complicated lol.

  • @MikeLockard ...whatt he fuck?

  • I didn't say I thought it was cool... I've just seen it. That's why I personally would just go to a vegan restaurant.

  • The word itself was coined by Donald Watson after reading books on the ancient practice of Ahimsa. Unfortunately now a days people associate it with a special diet/lifestyle. Veganism is not just a diet. The answer to your question can only be one... I'm vegan to be in harmony with the Universe. I know and understand that what I do while in this planet, has a karmatic reaction of immeasurable ramifications. Ergo, I try to avoid the exploitation of the earth and all it's living beings.

  • That's not a vegan lifestyle...?

  • typical uninformed opinion

  • See, if you've just went with "I'm vegan, because it's healthy", you would sound like a semi-douchebag. But whatever suits you best, I'm just glad that you are vegan

  • this is a great video

  • Christianity is indeed known

    for treating anyone who

isn't a human christian male quite badly. But it aso says not to murder-bible is full of contradictions,

so you can choose whatever you wish to believe,

Usually christians talk about their religion as such a good thing, because it

    'makes you a better person.'

that's why i said, that god would probably not want you to kill.

The almighty bible has little to do with actual belief in higher power today.

  • Wow..fail on the advertisement!

  • in a lot of cultures people take even just one day a week to eat vegetarian in respect to the animals. you know give em a lil break.

  • the animals WERE put here for us to consume but you have to admit that in this day and age its getting a little out of hand,

  • Were put here?

    By what?

Even if you are religious, [christian most likely],

I doubt that god wants you to murder.

  • (I'm a vegetarian) If you are a christian, killing animals is actually justified. "God" "said": "Take the world and subdue it. Domesticate the plants and the animals." (I'm german, sorry for the bad translation.)

  • All species that exist today evolved from a common ancestor. Nothing was "put here." And it seems quite barbaric to murder other living things for human pleasure. Eating animals is NOT a necessity. Just because we CAN eat animals, does not mean we should.

  • So let me get this straight...

You forsake health to prove an unpopular point ?

    Bingo !

  • You Americans are so f*cking lucky. Here in Portugal no one knows what a vegan is, i fell like an alien...

  • Thats pretty bad. Im Australian we have very few vegetarian products and even fewer vegan and most of these products are nasty. Id really like to buy Tofurky or Quorn but its not availible

  • america's gone soft man

  • wats going soft not eating meat ? its caring about ur health!!

  • ugh no meat/eggs in your diet, isnt healthy either. besides, meat gives u the extra energy u need.

  • Please educate yourself.

  • America hasnt gone soft lol. Id say any vegan-veggie trend only indikates America's developing a moral backbone

  • moral backbone? killing animals for food isnt a crime you kno.

  • Oh I wasnt critisizing anyones choice. Hwvr it can be seen as a crime in very much the same way killing humans can. I was only trying to say I think its veganism is a sign of strenght not weakeness.

  • a crime? im a big fan of animals and i hate to see any animals abused, hurt, etc. but u gotta understand some animals ( cows, chickens, pigs, fish, etc.) were put on the earth for us to eat. and other animals ( antelope, rabits, bugs, etc. ) were put here for animals 2 eat. its all part of nature so u shouldn't feel bad about it.

  • Even if that logic seems ok 2 u, 2 a vegan or a buddist it could sound like a self-serving and convenient justification for murdering others for our benifit, very similair to racist logics used to justify slavery and holocuasts(No offence). I can xplain why if u want but really I wast just pointing out that u Americans should be proud of this trend. Plzz dont be offended

  • im not offended i just said my opinion. i dont know lot bout buddists/vegans but i do kno u guys treat evrything like its human which its not. the animals we eat were created for a reason. and that's so we could use them for food. thats wat i believe but do wat ya want.

  • Ok. 2 certain religeous groups and vegans there a difference btwn whats beneficial and whats right os even if nature intended animal consumption 2 b benficial and enjoyable, we might believe the reason for this was so that 'good' ppl could sacrifice those benfeits 2 do wats right. & 2 us is if something feels emotions, loves and wants 2 live, its death and suffering would be equally as tragic as a humans despite it walking on 4 legs and behaving difrently

  • being religious myself i kno of a passage in the bible that says god gave man dominion over the beasts and the birds and the fish etc. nao i dont kno wat yur scripture says and im never forcing my beliefs on you but this is wat i kno 2 be true and if u think differently that ok i guess.

  • Im not religeous, I was just xplaining what I knew of religeous views that supported veganism. In contrast to what u said, these non-abrahamic religeons tend to have greater emphasis on using internal reasoning to make moral decision rather than relying soley on texts so there is probably a logical as well as a scriptural reason not 2 eat meat for buddist etc. And as u no not all vegans r buddist so there's a non-biblical princple behind their decision 2. I respect ur viewpoint 2.

  • thank u. well i guess im not gonna argue wit wat sounds like a genius. so believe watever u want. like i said im not shoving my beliefs in yur face.

  • Genesis 1:24-27 clearly indicates that man was created AFTER the animals, so the correct line of reasoning would be that man was put here to eat animals - which doesn't makes any sense at all.

  • Keeping animals fenced and contained their short life is wrong. Breeding them and killing them as you please is wrong.

Going out and hunting for a meal is different, and it's more respectful. So in a sense, you're right. And I'm just going to take a shot in the dark and guess that you didn't mean 'crime' literally.

  • I think that anyone who wants to eat meat should have to kill it themselves. If you want it that badly, you should have to see the look in the animal's eyes before you put a bullet in its head.

  • @FM897 Yeah, and anyone who eats tofu should have to pay a surtax for all of the extra energy and chemicals it involves.

  • @FM897 no problems

  • @FM897

It's a God damn choice. Isn't the whole point of being vegan respecting all life? "I won't eat a chicken egg but I'm fine if someone shoots themselves in the face." Don't try to force your opinions on others.

  • @TheHueMan01 I absolutely agree with you. It IS a choice to eat meat or not. What I am against is the way the meat is produced. It's one thing to choose to eat meat by hunting for it yourself or buying it from a local farmer who raises animals humanely and slaughters them as humanely as possible. It's quite another to support the cruelty of factory farms.

  • @TheHueMan01 I don't think we should be allowed to treat living, breathing, feeling, sentient beings that way, as if they were just another inanimate product, no matter how "dumb" we may think they are by human standards.

  • @FM897 I know, the total time it takes to eat meat 5 minutes. Where the animal suffered for a year.

  • @FM897 you mean I could FRESHLY kill my animal!! Fuck Yes!! Please support and bring this proposition before government. Id support it all the way :D

I Love you man, you have no idea how hard it is to get fresh meat these days..

  • @fightTHEpower08 Well, you already can by buying a gun and hunting.

  • @FM897yeah but guns are inhumane and bad for the planet. Chainsaws are a much more viable solution.

  • @FM897 so true

  • @FM897 My favorite meat is pork and my Grandfather is owns a meat processing factory I go there often to pick up fresh meat dose that count? (I know how it works inside out)

  • @FM897 why not just be a vegetarian then, if you don't want to kill animals.

  • @FM897

I haven't eaten dairy for years and recently cut all meat from my diet but I could care less about the animals "feelings", and I have no problems with meat-eaters. I'm just trying to live longer and have better health in general. Humans are at the top of the food chain and nature intended for us to feed on lower species. Do you think lions that eat gazelles should have to, "kill themselves"? I'd also have no problem shooting or decapitating an animal if I chose to eat meat.

  • @PokerOCD A lion is completely different. Funny that you mention cats because cats require meat in their diet to survive anyways. Humans, however, do not. It's come to a point where it's quite simple to live without meat as a human. Yet we still decide to throw meat on our plates for just about every meal. With 60% of the U.S. population overweight, I would say that isn't necessary. I could go on and on. Humans are just greedy. That's the bottom line.

  • @FM897

    Also:

Genesis 9:3 Every moving thing that lives shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

  • @PokerOCD I chose not to live my life based on what a 2,000 year old book tells me to do.

  • @FM897 humans are supposed to be omnivores, silly :)

  • @mandog987654 Sure, we are behavioral omnivores, although our anatomy is actually closer to that of an herbivore than a true omnivore. But our physiology is NOT meant handle nearly as much meat as the average American currently eats, and dairy is only meant to be consumed by baby cows.

  • I'm sorry, but vegans are not freaks. We are concerned about us, the wold, animals...

Freaks are the people who isn't interested about these things 'cause if it doesn't exist, no one wil be here.

  • Great video. I have no idea why people think it's hard. I've been vegan for three years, and when I see people online asking what options at this-or-that restaurant are VEGETARIAN, it kinda bowls me over. Is it seriously that hard to say "beans instead of meat" or "hold the cheese"?

Most restaurants are more than happy to make a few simple changes to make their customers happy- thousands of people are lactose intolerant, having dietary restrictions for moral reasons is no different.

  • I've never met one.

But then my name isn't Billy Bob and I don't drive a pickup, so the world seems more nuanced to me....

  • Why is it that most people who are confronted with topics they cant relate to have to leave stupid comments ?

  • It was a legitimate question.

  • one doesnt have anything to do with the other and being homosexual doesnt have anything to do with being a freak.

  • No I'm neither confused nor homosexual but ....i kinda understand if you say vegans are freaks cause they choose to be vegan but a homosexual doesnt choose to be homosexual ....but i think it doesnt make much sense to argue about it...why dont you just accept people the way they are

  • that, is a ridiculous stereotype.

first, homosexuals are not "freaks" they are regular people, and frankly can be a hell of a lot nicer than straight people.

second, the assumption of "most vegans are homosexual" is complete bullshit. i have many vegan friends, none of which are homosexual.

  • who are you to say what is perverted, or who are freaks? for all we know, YOU could be the perverted freak.

i know one thing. you are an ignorant asshole who judges groups of people for ridiculous reasons. please, go fuck yourself.

  • I hope you feel better now after letting all that anger out. You are obviously a very vicious person. I'm sure you are mad because you know I am right and it bothers you when I tell the truth.

  • Funny, because i don't believe i was relieving myself of any anger.

please explain how i could be a vicious person, considering you don't know me?

and how could you be right if you are stating a lousy opinion? haha, your lack of intelligence its quite funny.

  • What makes you think that your opinion is not the lousy one?

  • Oh please, i'm not the one making fun of homosexuals just to make me feel better about myself. honestly you must have a shitty self esteem to be making fun of them. haha, your not secure with you sexuality, are you? that explains it.

  • wtf im vegan i not a freak !!

  • Dude, get over yourself. So there are people in the world who are different from you. Whoop-dee-doo! Calling them a freak really isn't going to solve things. Especially when you're trying so hard to sound like a bad-ass at your computer. It's clear you're just looking for reactions as you've nothing better to do with your time. Here's an idea: practice your martial arts and keep your mouth shut. You're giving "ninpo" a bad name!

    Namaste

  • and if you really think so YOU are ignorant.

  • awesome dude

  • I'm a cannibal. all I eat r people.

  • babies would be better^^

  • thank you! We usually order regular veggi pizza without cheese

    tastes pretty good

  • i enjoy a nice cheeseburger from time to time

  • I'd rather just eat/cook at home. Then I'm guaranteed to know exactly what is in my food.

  • The majority of Indian restaurants are very familiar with the whole vegan thing, and they often have several amazing vegan dishes plus samosas and pakoras and stuff are generally vegan. Chana masala baby!

  • ye i get kauma without the cream its lovely :-)

  • better yet, watch Earthlings.

  • i know this dude he is no more vegan than i am

  • ew?

  • I ALWAYS get my own special yummy vegan meal! YUM!

  • kirkslastbid will go to hell when it dies.

  • Wow. Education goes a long way... Maybe you ought to invest?

  • sounds good, but seriously dude do yoi know the amount of chronic degenerative diseases people have, go into an old age home and see all the suffering. people have diabetes, dementia, alzheimers, vegans are much healthier on average. i am trying to eat less meat its hard.

  • andrea20k how can you be absolutly sure that a cow or chicken did not live their lives in tortue? your neighbours may be not a nice as you think. And why do you call the vegan milk soy milk? it is called soya milk... And I recommend the 'Vanilla Alpro Soya'.

  • its sy milk in the usa

  • Now back in my day, if i said

"no thanks dad, im a vegan"

he would of said to me

"hah funny, eat your meat pussy, my sons not gay"

  • Personally, as a vegan I ALWAYS have a little something to eat pretty much right before I go out to eat. It's a pain in the ass to make a big fuss at a restaurant when you are with other people...so I usually eat something yummy before I go out. That way I can order a plain salad and still feel satisfied leaving the restaurant.

  • I'm a vegetarian, but I do eat cheese and regular milk on occasions and eggs. As long as it doesn't involve a tortured animal, being murder for my dining experience, I can live with that. Living in a small town we don't get provide with soy cheese or soy ice cream. But we do get morning star meals, soy milk, tofu, etc.

  • Why don't you stock up lots of soya products if you feel that you need them in your diet? They last like forever, so just go somewhere that they have it and purchase loads of what you need. Going vegan after having been vegetarian is actually really easy, and you'll feel so much better. You can do it girl!

  • plain baked potatoes are my best friend when eating out! Often times, restaurants are happy to just grill some vegetables for me also. If you are friendly & polite when asking for something off the menu most will happily provide it for you.

  • I have not had a meal out in a restuarant for about 3 and a half years. I simply don't trust the menu, say for example they do veggie lasagne, the mince could be from an animal and then there is the issue with the cheese which I do not eat. It is far to much hassle eating out, as most places do not make anything I can eat. And when I stay with relatives I always bring my own food as basically nothing they have is suitable for me.

  • I've gone through the exact same thing. Basically no restaurants within my area are vegan friendly at all (some places have tried to trick me into eating dairy or meat, but i didn't eat or pay for that food). My relatives are guilty of trying to trick me too... so bringing food is always a must.

  • Your best bet is to carry a vegan survival pack (condiments) in your bag. Don't expect non vegan resturants to even have workers that understand anything, let alone vegan.

Its safest to order in stealth-mode, don't even mention vegan, it could probably insult a leeser intelligence. Mention dairy/food allergies etc as opposed to being vegan.

Most asians are conditioned to lie anmd claim misunderstanding. Egg wipes are routinely used on spring rolls, butter is used.

  • ...even their peanuts can have MSG (common w/Planters). Fish/anchoive paste, asians see all this as vegan, they want your bussiness.

Best not to wear the vegan button in non vegan resturants.

Play the sick/allergic customer, then you're a potential threat, they'll pay more attention and will be more attentive. Vegan seen as elitist, cooks can be insulted, take revenge.

  • 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do' this can be accomplished 'mentally' in non vegan resturants. There are too many people after the server that can poison your food, don't chance it, come off as one of 'them' with dietary limitations.

  • First off, I am also a vegan

Lets say you are the stereotypical guest of a restaurant: you dine out once or twice a week, usually on the weekends and around 7pm. This is when restaurants make the majority of their business. Please, for all that is sane and wonderful, if you are a vegan visiting a restaurant that isn't, please choose a slower time to parade your veganism at a restaurant that isn't. You'll just be a pain in the ass if you don't.

  • I'll have to try this next time. Last time I went to a restaurant with my mom they had not even ONE dish that I could eat, so we just ended up leaving without ordering anything!!

  • It's never easy. I have a hard time eating as a vegetarian, let alone as a vegan. If you order any bread product, it probably contains egg, whey, milk, honey, or something along those lines. Vegetables are often cooked in butter (premade). No server wants to dig around in the freezer to find the ingredients list nor would they know how to even read it. I wish there were more options at restaurants! I send e-mails to restaurants often, but they have told me there isn't a demand. :(

  • Good advice, but it's still hard. I don't eat at restaurants unless I really have to. I think if you had to go to a restaurant, try to go to a vegan one because then at least you would know that what you are eating is vegan for sure and you will be supporting a vegan company.

  • I wish it were really that easy.. It can be difficult to ask down to the core, what is vegan. For pizza you have to look out for the crust ingredients, not just cheese/meat of course. Be prepared for annoyed waiters, I have been criticized by them for being difficult! In that case don't give them your business.. just my opinion.

Best advise, plan ahead where you will be eating out so you can call first or check online for ingredients.

  • I agree. For example, if my friends invite me out, I always ask where we are going first, so I can research what I can order right when I sit down. Its the easiest way . . . and sometimes the waiters do get irritated. But I think part of being vegan is taking a stand and showing people you refuse to eat meat or dairy, and its no joke to you. Its important not to feel like you are bothering others, because if you give in . . . then there is no spreading of social conciouse (Sp?)

  • I'm trying to become a vegan and I have to say it's not easy at all. There are still many more options in a vegetarian diet. Shamandura is right you have to ask for the ingredients but not just the ones in the crust of the pizza but also for the ones in bread and pasta. However, the best places to go for vegan food are Middle Eastern and Indian restaurants and pita bread is made without dairy products or eggs.

  • thats it??

  • I love how people make ignorant comments like that. You eat your ice cream at mcdonalds, fool!

  • To each his own :) I, on the other hand, prefer vegan ice from my local vegan store. Mmmmmmmm, vegan ice:) It's delicious and way better than the crap they serve at McDonalds ;)

  • i cant eat ice i have braces.

  • Mmmmmmmm, I get hungy just for talking about vegan ice;) I think I'll take a trip down to the vegan store:)
