Just copy over your itunes library files somewhere else (desktop for example) and then try to reopen iTunes Beta. It's the library files that are causing the error since they are created with the newer version. Once those are out of the way Beta will open.

I had the same problem a minute ago. go to the folder where the library files are, not the music files, and delete them. Move your music/apps to another area. Then install the itunes you want.

hey can you make a video on how to downgrade from 3.0 final goldmaster version back to 2.2.1. Im asking for you to do this because 3.0 from itunes does not work on my iphone.

uninstall "iTunes 8.2" and "Apple Mobile Device Support"

from your machine.

download and install iTunes 8.2 beta

Connect your iphone to itunes, and wait for confirmation.

Turn off your iphone nicely

PRESS AND HOLD the power and home buttons for EXACTLY 10 seconds. And at the

tick of the tenth second, release the power button while holding the home button for another 10 seconds.

If all snaps together, your iPhone's display should be blank and it should report to iTunes that it's in

"Recovery mode". Just click okay and shift+click restore.

Navigate to your 2.2.1 ipsw and select it. If all has been done well, the process of restoring to the

2.2.1 should commence. ERROR WILL OCCUR in the end, it ought to be something like 1013, as long as the second

digit is 0, you are okay. You don't really have to know why. (1xYY -> x = 0 -> you're okay )

If not, then u failed!
