I remember this being televised on our Dance Show that was shown every Saturday in CT. I was a kid then but now that I see this again and hear it, this is lip sycned with Flo's voice being in the group at the time. This is not a LIVE performance. I know Flo's voice any day and Cindy's voice was much lighter than Flo's even Flo's speaking voice was strong and heavy. Diana was pure anorexic in those days. Mary was always pretty and CIndy I had to get use to seeing in the group.
1965? Fall of 67 was the earliest of Cindy Birdsong's appearances with the group. THIS IS DEFINITELY A PRE-RECORDED TAPE WITH FLORENCE BALLARD, PROBABLY RECORDED AT THE COPA, OR VEGAS. I would stake my life on it.
i dont think this is lip sync or whatever i just think the quility is bad and the audio is way ahead than what shes singing. i think its just the video. it happens on some videos so its common. but i gave it a thumbs up anyway.
There really is a different sound with Flo in the group...Cindy's is okay, but has a different range and strength to her voice than Flo. Nonetheless, the Spirit of Flo and The Supremes moves ever forward....Honey, you is terrific!!
This is live but from the May 1967 Copa show. This performance is lip synced. Not only can you herr Flo singing she's the one that's says "Ohh Yeah" in My World Is Empty.
Haha, I love how you can hear how is was taken from the 1967 Copacabana show - as Florence Ballard is very clear to hear on the soprano parts on the backing vocals. Haha, so typical of Motown to just pretend it was Cindy singing by having her mime Flo's parts. Cute video and a lovely post though, thanks for putting this up :)
First of all this was not 1965 like the video indicated. . They did not appear as put together as I thought they would have for the Copa. Their wigs did not seem quite right. And if this was from the Copa show,,,wouldnt they be singing live,,, so it is Cindy not Flo.
@fwsinned Erm, my comment clearly says the audio is taken from the 1967 Copa recording of this medley. Flo's VOCALS can be clearly heard but Diana, Mary and Cindy are lip-syncing to the copa recording they did prior to the recording of this promotional video when Flo was still a member of the group
IN MY OPINION "THE SUPREMES" GROUP DIED THE VERY MOMENT FLORENCE BALLARD WAS FIRED.
FROM THAT MOMENT ON THAT WAS A LIFELESS MANIPULATED GROUP WITH NO CHARM OR FRESHNESS.

Diana wig is quite stylish but does not become her like her usual wigs, it looks as if it is going to fall off her when she tilts her head forward.

Its very interesting to me that this is a lip synch. The sound was live alright but that is Cindy on the video tape while it is FLORENCE's voice!

@singlos Actually, they are singing live. The sound is out of sync. Cindy is singing, not Flo.

"Listen hunny, thin may be in but fat is where it's at" Florence Ballard 1967. RIP FLO!

this medley they sang was from 67 from the copa
you can hear flo singing on it but the video seems to be from 68 because it has cindy who came in 67 after flo was fired.
nothing of this is from 65 like the information of the video says
