however, because this is a movie, they can't do everything like in manga. they had to changed something. so...

anyway, I still like both the manga and movie.

the female lead, however. is a total dunce who can't think rationally to save her life

it's only after about 5 mysteries (death, transformations, environments, madness, ext.) that she finally says "could it be the spiral?" (even though it's mentioned in EVERY FUCKING CHAPTER...

I have seen plenty of good japanese movies, but let me tell you what this is not one of them. I've noticed a pattern, its like whenever they make a live action movie out of an anime or manga the acting is always bad and alot of times they come off as really cheap. I dont understand why considering their original for live action come out well O.o who knows.

im sorry but i have to admit japanese people are good at technology stuff, anime, style, and alot of other stuff but the one thing they are really not good at is making real movies and acting....for real japanese actors/actress cannot act and sometimes the movie directors dont do a very dood job at making good movies...i mean uzumaki is a good movie but again bad acting and some dumb parts...my opinion

Uzumaki's style is tongue-in-cheek, and the bad acting is somehow added as part of the style. You need to take up film classes, sir. No offense.

@Mikuru83 The manga was not complete when they made the movie so they had to figure out what happened at the end. In fact, all that "mirror"-"snake" theory is not in the manga but is all made up for the movie, to give some sense to the plot. The ending is open and IMHO gives a cool eerie feeling to it, which makes the audience to make its own conclusions. I love that movie as I love the manga. Both have different formats.
