  • hey i caught 8890 leading on Sunday

  • Record 148 cars, 2 engines. 1 pulling, 1 pushing at the back. They should do it that way. It is more economical to have 1 engine pulling up to 126 cars, longer trains 1 engine pulling, 1 at the back is safer, there is the potential to be able to run 250 car trains, and have a 3rd engine in the middle. In todays economical hard times, for safety purposes this makes sense. 1 engine can pull up to 126 cars.

  • @gmcbuses Yup this is record for me with 1 front 1 rear engine configuration. although my longst trains I have seen (175 to 188 cars) had 3 engines on the front on the front no DPU. My record CP train (@ 176 cars) was 1 on the front 1 in the middle and 1 on the rear. I think as the weather worsens here in Canada the railways will start to add more power on to the trains.

  • Cool shot, 2261 looks to be freshly painted.

  • @widecabfan thank you. I don't know why but I've seen 2261 2 times once in 09 and this one and she has been clean both times while some of her new compatriots have been dirty
