You can make a general comment that the schedule of the last position didn't fit with other family commitments you had--which works if this job has different hours.
Was there a reason why you weren't able to follow the absence procedures (I assume that you mean you didn't call out when you couldn't be there), and that reason has changed now?
iv been unemployed 4 6 months now after getting fired for not following absence procedures. iv been so honest so far but employers have been completely put off by my dissmissal.
