@DoRiAnGrAy07031988 It all depends on the chip which was installed but usually they read any wii & gamecube backup.

@n00bkiller247 Unfortunately it is impossible, because when the wii enters in game cube mode, it turn off the USB ports, so no external hard drive or more.o as shown in the video,or the only other possibility is put your GC games in sd and loads them with the Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher,but this program is dangerous, and I recommend you do as they did in the video.

Hey so I am having a problem where when I load the disc with my backup launcher 0.2 It doesn't give me the option to switch the games, instead it says "GCOS multigame DVD" Wtf did I do wrong? did I use the wrong multi ISO program?

Does anyone know if that the Backup Launcher can read .exe and not just .iso because i accidentally installed the .exe file to my DVD-R but afraid that reading and .exe file can brick my Wii.

It WILL work, but it means that some games will not work and some will. DvD-R works on all games.

What was the error code? This will usually tell what's wrong.

The read error 0x3023a00 means disc is completely wrong (e.g. turn disc around, disc not burned, disc too small minimum).

So I suggest trying to see if you have a bad burn. Try burning the iso/gcm again at write speed 2x with ISOburner and see if your problem is solved.

IF it is not, then try downloading the gcm from another place. If THAT doesn't work, then your game will not work on DVD-RW.

On the bight side, SS works PERFECTLY on DVD-RW....

@abc142898 Okay, I will re-burn it when I get on my laptop again and see if it works :3 I used some iso-compiling tool, so that may be my problem. I got the game to run on Dolphin, but it's laggy. The game is Pikmin, and it is really hard to find in stores and when you do, it is expensive! It's what I really want, I have Doubutsu no Mori e+ on there too, that was the other ISO. I bought SS in limited edition though :D masterpiece of a game! ^.^

Nice choice of game! :) Just make sure your write speed is extra slow so it can be read on wii (preferably 2x).

@driftking10791 Wii's read dvd-r just fine. You need to properly install gamecube backup launcher. There is something you need to do before you can just load up the app. I think it's a mios update but its been a while since I did this. Google it.

@zoCified You need to softmod your wii, there are tons of videos and documentation on youtube and googling. Once done you download gamcube isos and burn with IMGburn.

@Mysteriozone okay, i have softmoded before, now i have burned file.gmc on my dvd-r on speed 1x, and then i opened up GC launcher and put the burned game in it said "Failed to read 263. Error 0x3023a00 No disc."

@zoCified If you unrar the rar files with winrar you will either get a iso or gmc. They both work the same, just use imgburn or that multisoftware that puts like 3-6 games on one dvd-r.

No, it cannot play games on an sd card or an hdd, because when the wii plays a gamecube game it switches to gamecube hardware which can only read discs.

@MultiGuitar12345 no. it removes the un used space of the game's size. the size of the iso is always gonna be 1.35 gb but most games don't use it all so shrinking it removes that unused space. It can be sketchy though

@MultiGuitar12345 Don't believe so, I think the Wii only reads dvd-r or they are better for the lens according to what I read years ago.

@marquise02119 you need to patch the mios, download mios patcher and put it in the apps folder in the root sd card and patch it just be carefull to patch the correct mios and done, i think it might be that

what firmware do you have? is there a cios that you can install that works for 4.2u. every time i try to install any cios, it doesn't work. i don't know what one to install.
