I am getting the same thing done this Friday (4/8/11) and have done my best to not even think of it till today when I finally went online to watch other ppl actually having the injection. I almost didn't click on your link b/c it didn't show the procedure, but I decided that just hearing from someone who 'survived' and could give me an idea of what to expect afterward might be helpful, and it was! :-) I, too have a plethora of auto immune issues since I was 26. ;-(
I'm scared to get this done. I have a bad retinopathy. You SURE this doesn't really hurt? I don't want to move my eye when it goes in and break the needle off. :'(
@Maxb49 The injection doesn't hurt. They numb the eye ball so all you will feel is a little pressure. It's done quickly. It really is worse in our minds then the actual procedure. I still don't like getting it done. I have to work hard on turning my mind off. I call in Angels to help me and stay close. While sitting in the waiting room I remind myself to breathe and that it doesn't hurt. The gunk they put in the eye hurts more then anything else. Feels like sand. Let me know when it's over

My husband was diagnosed with wet macular,he has to have a series of injections in his eye the thought was horrifying but after watching your video and listening to you he felt more confident and reasured, the injection was not that bad as you described the most discomfort was the drops before the injection. We both hope you are feeling better and send you our love from England.
Your glasses look very nice. I suffered an eye injury when I was 6 years old it left me blind in that eye and it looks wierd because of the scaring from the multiple surgeries.
I understand about the eye patch BUT you could always claim to be a Pirate!! Like Captain Jack Sparrow!! The Hives rash is so bad! It's like a really BAD sunburn and it hurts at times. I had my gal-bladder out,cervical cancer, I have severe SLE and if you need someone to talk to PLEASE email me!! I would LOVE to talk to you! Much Love....Josie Kay

I get avastin shots in my left eye every month. Dr tried to skip a month and I started seeing another spot...going on a year now of these shots.....
