  • i am using puppy linux 5.2.5 while posting this comment i love puppy over ubuntu!

  • ..... this is like windows... XD

  • Such music for a OS ... ridiculous serious !

  • Downloading now to put on my flash drive.

Also, what's the music? It's beautiful.

  • does it come with flash installed for youtube etc? Is there a terminal to install flash or does it all get a bit complicated?

  • Man I love Linux!!!! What song is playing in this video?

  • y is this video on youtube it's not showing anything. people need to learn how to post videos.

  • @light9boldt People also need to learn how to post comments.

  • How do I get my wifi to work with puppy?

  • crunchbang owns puppy linux

  • Puppy Linux is the best, hands down.

  • excelente el tema weon!!! me encanto el piano (nah que con puppy linux xD)

  • Just to make somethings clear: Mac OSX is not Linux. Both are Unix like systems. OSX is based on the Mach micro kernel. The Linux kernel (monolithic), used in the GNU/Linux system, tries to be a standards compliant clone of Unix's. (But better) They are VERY closely related though. Many core programs of both are from BSD, and/or the GNU project, ie: Bash shell.

  • HARDVER NEED?

  • I just purchased a laptop pre installed with Puppy Linux 4.2 and Linux is a OS unfamiliar to me. I am used to Windows so I appreciate all the helpful comments .The rude comments and arguments are a distraction to many people new to Linux and those considering switching over!

  • why puppy linux and not Ubuntu?U'll feel more at home with Ubuntu

  • My computer is 10 years old, Ubuntu is bigger than its entire hard drive. Puppy linux takes up nothing, works rocket fast, and basically leaves me with a computer as good as new.

  • what do the system specs have to be, i have an IBM Thinkpad T20 with 128MB ram and 40 gig hdd, would it run on there or would it be too laggy?

  • It can run on the oldest hardware you can get, short of the 486. All the Pentium series are capable!

And on a new PC, its jaw droppingly fast! Though old PCs are like that too!

  • viva el software libre !!!!

  • Puppy Linux is good, but it's small, for older machines. Also uses XFCE, don't really like that. I'd say any the Debian based distros are the best.

  • linux is much better then windows

  • MAC is a UNIX System based on Free BSD<---so it is like Linux!

  • @Maximilian178

    Finally! someone who understands! :P

  • @Maximilian178 Yeah and some people pay for it 50bucks ;)

  • Mac is a pc the only difference is it's made by a different company its like calling a Dell and Acer non PC's.

the operating system is called OS X btw NOT mac.

    and OS X is linux.

So stuff it up ur asshole newby.

  • Os X isn't Linux they just use the same kernel

that doesn't make them the same thing, all the kernel does is manage the system resources.

  • uhh okay.

  • I would use puppy if I can get Apparmor or SElinux to work with it. I hate being root all the time.

  • you dont have to be root all the time with Puppy... what are you talking about..

    .

  • Prove it.

  • Knowing that i am right; i don't need to prove ANYTHING to an amateur like you!Clearly you are a noob to linux.

  • Clearly you are talking straight out of your ass.

  • Stupid noobs such as yourself have nothing better to do than to ask questions and try to seem smart.

  • What?

  • And even if I am new to Linux, that still makes you relatively useless by hiding something you "claim" to know that can help others.

  • You have to edit the dev: directory repository...

  • what desktop environment does puppy use, I really like it.

  • thats the old version yeh??

  • Can you have XFCE and DR17 working on Puppy?

  • can u use compiz fusion with this distro? (provided u have a pwerful enough pc)

  • Yes you can. I have a vid running 301 with CF. Go have a look. I'll tell you now though, it's not easy... There's also a download floating around on the puppy sites called WNOP (wobbly nearly office pup) with CF already installed. A google search for "wnop" should get you a link.

  • I used Puppy Linux to rescue my desktop PC this week as a Ram modulewent faulty and I was left with only half which Ubuntu/xp didnt like at all!

  • I'd rather have not so damn small linux. But that's personal I think Puppy is great 2. If only microsoft would consider talking to the makers of it.

  • I don't want Microsoft TOUCHING Linux. They destroy everything they touch - except Halo and the XBox. Those are okay. xD

  • NOooooo!! m$ dont touch linux

  • I will try to post my download website link so you newbs can download Iso Recorder, but I am going to try to post this link with spaces & you will have to remove the spaces. The only reason that I am doing this is because youtube will not let me post a url in my post, cuzz I guess they do not allow that, so here it is just back space to get rid of the empty spaces in the url. If you are reading this, then it worked. Here it is:

    .esnips. com/web/ghostaliaz?docsPage=4#files

  • Newbs (ISO Recorder) is a real quick & easy tool to burn a iso in xp.his unique & great piece of software let's you make/record .iso images. Basicly it ads the abillity to record .iso images using the recording software that is allready built into windows xp. But it does not record dvd images, It only records .iso cd images. After you install it, just right click any .iso image & choose record & thats it. Enjoy! I have a link butgoofey youtube will not allow me to post a web address in this post

  • I Love this Distro because it is great for older computers, it breaths new life into them & it is so small that it runs in memory atleast while I am using the live cd. I just love Puppy Linux. The network connection configuration tool works better to me then the major distro's. People do not throw out your old pc's, just install puppy linux on it & you will feel like you are working on a 3GHZ intel duo.I know that is hard to believe, but just try it. You will be surprised how fast it is.Enjoy!

  • You sir, or madam, have just described exactly why I love puppy linux.

  • Very interesting!
