There are MANY different types of autism, and the one Hoffman's character is based on he portrays almost perfectly. Go read a book.

I'm not saying that Hoffman didn't do a great job. All I'm trying to say is that anyone who sees this movie and doesn't know any better thinks that all people with autism are like this. Seriously, it happened in my science class. When we were watching this movie my teacher had me tell the class that I had autism and everyone looked at me like "Whoa, that can't be true. He's like, the smartest kid in the class! WTF?"
