@TheDaltonboii They are relatively cheap and they can produce a pretty good quality of bass. Great for cost. I recommend a ported box. I know people like sealed but honestly the ported sounds better

Your using 2 400W subs with either 2 or 4 ohm SVC, off of a Kenwood 1200W amp. Your choices are if your running the 2 ohm subs to run as 1 or 4 ohms, or as the 4 ohm subs at 2 or 8 ohms. I'm assuming your running at 2 ohms if i got the message right.
You can easily get 800+ clean watts from your amp at those specs.
Use an oscope to tune the amp and HU in for clipping prevention.
@massacreman3000 I HAD a 1000 watt amp. I had those these 4 ohm subs wired at 4 ohms. Actually to be honest, i had these wired very weird. If not a 4 ohm, then a 8 ohm. With the setup i had, i can't actually get 800 clean watts or RMS. I was actually looking more at 600 watts RMS MAYBE.
Either way. It doesn't really matter and i don't have this system anymore. I now have 2 18 inch 4000 watt RMS SSA prototypes.

I agree with fyflishfy. It would be better to stay low. For the sake of your electrical and for your speakers. Often times amps are also rated at a higher "watts" then they really are. So really don't believe all of it. But yeah i agree with fyflishfy on this one

ok amp doesnt matter after the max of the sub, if the 2 subs max at 900 watts, they only use 900 watts, so 1000 watt amp is not necessary, and 1800 watt wouldn't make a difference because theirs 900 extra amps not being used,
@th3fatalpride Lol. I'm not trying to be rude but don't think you know everything. Because you don't. The 1000 watt amp isn't even putting out 1000 watts because kenwood rates the amps at a 14.4v, which is pretty much impossible, even with after market alternator. So upgrading the amp in theory could help pull more electricity, which it did in my case. It was also louder, i would say more but i have a limit on my characters :)
@DarkTinman kenwood is a good, reliable company, meaning their amps are true watted. True watts means that a 900 watt amp puts out 900 watts, now if you had a pyramid 1200 watt amp, it probally matches a walmart 500 watt amp.
@th3fatalpride I want proof that they are true watted then. On top of that, the max WATTS is not going to be able to be sustained for more then a couple seconds with these amps, so again. RMS is all that matters here and a bigger amp that has a higher RMS rating is going to be able to SUSTAIN louder and lower notes better then one with less rms rating
@DarkTinman If your spending any money at all on an amp, you would like to believe that it does what its supposed to do, if you get a kenwood 900w mono amp($300), is true watted, that would easily handle these subs at their max level for a long period of time, and to get the max watts out for a long period of time, your going to have a highly sophisticated machine that gives out only bass notes. No song or bass test on youtube can ever put out a highly concentrated bass note. So it doesn't matte

They are mono blocks made for subwoofers, JUST like the 1000 and the 1800. I currently have a AQX-3500.1 that can put a CONSTANT 3500 watts out just fine. @yellowmusicfreak This is an old video but, 100 for both woofers, 140 for the amp, 50 for the mdf to build your PORTED box, 290 in total and louder then sealed. Sealed just takes more power and isn't as efficient

i have one w3012 sub and kac-7204 1000 watt 500 rms but i dont have enclosure there is no bass - did the enclosure very important to produce that bass.

Kenwood hands down in my opinion. I HATE kicker. If you were to get two, i honestly would say just the 1000 watt kenwood amp. It performs very well and it is very cheap. Just like kenwood subs. But remember, don't buy it through kenwood, because then they are expensive!!
@DarkTinman whats wrong with kicker? kicker is the most reliable car audio brand out there. they UNDERRATE their amps. everybody else has "ooo we got a 2000 watt max amp!" but it only pushes 400 watts rms. (sorry, that was a lot. not trying to tell you that kicker is amazingly beast, but yeah.)

To be really honest with you. It's more about the box then the sub. Ported is more for rap songs, like low bass, and loud bass. Sealed is for rock, it is a lot more tight and sounds more clean. And these subs are great. I honestly do like them, and for a 900 watt amp that probably is pretty good to run to the sub. So yeah, i think you would be happy with a Kenwood sub

Got the same setup in my Jetta, only sealed boxes, tryin to get a ported box, but even sealed IMO the most bass you can get for $340 total.

@yellowmusicfreak This is an old video but, 100 for both woofers, 140 for the amp, 50 for the mdf to build your PORTED box, 290 in total and louder then sealed. Sealed just takes more power and isn't as efficient

i have one w3012 sub and kac-7204 1000 watt 500 rms but i dont have enclosure there is no bass - did the enclosure very important to produce that bass.

@DarkTinman yes this is 2 ohms, my buddy has the same exact subs and amp and i hooked up his system, the amp is only 500 rms, and the subs are 400 rms each, so i have his running 250 rms each sub 2 ohms. shit slams even half power.

Try to get JL audio subs and amp.
For sure not the highest in terms of SPL, but in terms of SQ, they are the best. Have extremely high SQ and still get good SPL.

i have these same subs, but i have a long port across the bottem under the subs...n a 2500 watt amp jus to get em to their peak lol. i believe im hitting round 137 to 140 decimals which is average...i'd like to get to more of these...or maybe upgrade to 15s, but nice set up look good

Kenwood hands down in my opinion. I HATE kicker. If you were to get two, i honestly would say just the 1000 watt kenwood amp. It performs very well and it is very cheap. Just like kenwood subs. But remember, don't buy it through kenwood, because then they are expensive!!

@DarkTinman whats wrong with kicker? kicker is the most reliable car audio brand out there. they UNDERRATE their amps. everybody else has "ooo we got a 2000 watt max amp!" but it only pushes 400 watts rms. (sorry, that was a lot. not trying to tell you that kicker is amazingly beast, but yeah.)

To be really honest with you. It's more about the box then the sub. Ported is more for rap songs, like low bass, and loud bass. Sealed is for rock, it is a lot more tight and sounds more clean. And these subs are great. I honestly do like them, and for a 900 watt amp that probably is pretty good to run to the sub. So yeah, i think you would be happy with a Kenwood sub

nice subs.. kenwoods are good subs.. to be honest, i myself dont like too much bass. When you have too much, it kills the song and just attracts attention and makes you look like a beaner.. The people that have sound systems with like 3,000 watts only really have lik 500 rms and put em in 500 dollar rusted ass civics..
