@ZombineCia Thanks a lot, yes. Its like a soundtrack written for the screen. Watch our channel, there is a remastered version of the MIG-25 in much more better quality.
BTW Mig25 was created to intercept blackbirds SR71's spy missions. Were SR71 is a spy plane with enormous proportions to help it fly and huge huge turbines, Mig 25 is a fighter plane that could also be used to launch modern day small satellite.
@akulax2 Actually it was developed to intercept the XB-70 Valkrie strategic bomber the US was testing. The XB-70 was cancelled, but the Mig25 seemed usefull to the Soviets to produce anyway.
On 6 November 1971, an Egyptian MiG-25 flying at Mach 2.5 was met by Israeli F-4Es and fired upon unsuccessfully.[11][19] A MiG-25 was tracked flying over Sinai at Mach 3.2 during this period. The MiG-25 overspeeded its engines, which led to their later destruction.[8] Unit Det 63 was sent back home in 1972, though reconnaissance Foxbats were sent back to Egypt in 19–20 October 1973 during the Yom Kippur War.[19] Unit Det 154 remained there until late 1974.
@SEL9000 the rockets need no wings, even in atmosphere, because they go up vertically. They can fly up even if there is no atmosphere. Their only lifting force is a fire from their engines
no, even sattelites and space stations dont get sucked away and they are MUCH higher.
I dont know it exactly, but i guess you would loose control over the aircraft because the air gets too thin for it to function. You now, the engine needs some air to "breathe" and also you need air under the wings.
Well, thats what i think would happen, maybe even the engine would shut down because of the missing air / Oxygen
@Bartschinator so if he kept going up and he wanted his MIG still working, the machine would must to have a liquid oxygene right? and some small pushers on the wings to be controllable. And then he could play a cosmonaut:)
@szymusiek1980 This would be only possible with a rocket engine, as the testflights of the US X-15 program showed. There is a physicially border in the atmosphere, where a plane is to held under control. This border is called "The Karman" line in 100km (330,000ft) altitude. The MIG-25 has the world record in a high flying aircraft with jet turbines. The flight with the aircraft alone would not be possible because of leak of oxygene and trajetory. And would need much more speed to reach space.
@SEL9000 I know, so I said that MIG would need a container with liquid O2 to feed his jet-engine, cuz above 100km there's no O2. So one problem we have solved. And you said that he would need very high speed to reach space, so I guess the wings would need more resistance towards the air so they could lift him. But it consumes too lot of fuel. And what next after he reachs the space? Wings are useless there, so the speed won't help. What about a vertical flight above the 100km?
@szymusiek1980 A vertical flight, a so called "zoom climb" is used by testing of new kind of jets and also used by figher pilots to espace enemy aircrafts. On this way the pilot trading the kinetic engergy of forward motion of altitude. Wings are only needed for pathing through the atmosphere, has nothing to do with the speed (look at rockets), when it is possible to steer the craft. And of course for re-entry (similar to the space shuttle) to fly back to the base. These are different systems.
@SEL9000 ok, but you didn't understand me. I said that MIG would need more speed where the atmosphere is very rare (horizontal flight), because wings need something to be based on, otherwise they won't lift the MIG. When the air is very thin, MIG must speed up cuz the speed makes the resistance between wings and air and that makes a lifting force. btw My earlier saying "the wings are useless in cosmic space and the speed won't help there", means the same "the wings have nothing to do with speed"
Wings have alot to do with speed i am afraid. The design of the wing must be taken into account when deciding on the powerplant and how what type of speed the aircraft is going to fly at, and which altitude. It all coincides together. What i mean is, look at the wing of U2 and wing of MiG25. You are right, they do not make speed, but if you were to take a U2 to the speed of a MiG25 the wings would disintegrate wherease the MiG25's would not. The wings have set a limit on speed see
@mattmatt115 yes yes all you said is a truth, but you've read my comment wrongly. I was saying that the speed of MIG has nothing to do with the wings in the illusory situation when the MIG crosses the airspace and finds himself in the cosmic space;) Up there, the ship needs no speed or wings but only a powerful engine for vertical flight. In the atmosphere - sure, if he flies faster (horizontally) then he raises faster and easier
Yeah misleading... if the pilot was in space, and came back in a MIG 25, it would have to of been coated with ceramic tiles.... to take the friction from re entry, in to the earth's atmosphere.
@Master0fB00m It is called "edge of space", because the flights were the only possiblity to come "closer" to space. Space is beginning much more higher in 100km or 330K ft (Karman line)
@SEL9000 Right now space is only about 20 miles up (32km). Planes cruise at 37,000 feet (passenger airlines) which is obviously nothing close to the "edge of space." I know you are not talking about passenger airlines but I thought I would add that in. It's funny as people think space is further away than it actually really is. The worst one I heard was 200,000km /facepalm
If you really want to know more about the Mig 25 read "MIG Pilot".
Belive it or not I read in this book that back in the day the cooling system on the Mig 25 was charged with 150 proof alcohol (Vodka). The Russians are smarter than the USA in some ways. They keep a lot of their engineering and building very simple while Americans tend to over complicated everything and thus have less reliability in their craft.
This was the main aircraft to intercept of sr-71 as it flied along soviets borders. till it was replaced by mig-31. after it usa stopped spy flies of sr-71.
Incredible machine. Incredible what the Soviets have done with aeronautics and space flight. The pioneers of spaceflight, the first to do everything bar land men on the moon. Amazing.
@FortPolkAirsoft :Nope, it wolud survive just right (on alt > 60.000 feet the pressure is *nearly* zero). The airplane won't leave the atmosphere because it doesn't have the oxidizer on board, so propulsion in vacuum isn't possible.
Soviets is unmatched in defense machinery. Usa is unmatched in offense machinery. Soviets got best AA defense and ground forces like artillery, tanks, infanty. Americans got best air attacking forces and information warfare. But anyway this video shows how our planet is small in general. And also this video is just awesome.
@matttane It was a result of the cold war: Russia designed this plane in response to the threat of high-altitude high speed American bomber aircraft like the XB-70 Valkyrie. The variant put in service was a single-seat fighter capable of Mach 3.2 and flight at a recorded 135 thousand feet. However, after each of these types of flights, the engines had to be replaced, so the planes' engines were generally redlined at Mach 2.5. It was still an enormously Russian in every way: cheap and durable XD.
@matttane The MIG25 isn't comparable with the U2 "Dragonlady" spyplane. MIG-25 is a interception fighter what was used (and is used in some countries) to defend high flying planes. Originally designed as to intercept the planned US strategical MACH 3 supersonic nuclear bomber XB70 'Valkyrie'. This plane wasn't going into service, MIG-25 was. The successor model of the MIG-25 is the MIG-31. The U2 spyplane is a very high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. And yes, I flown with the MIG-25.
@matttane no... the mig 25 is a Russian fighter ment to take down the xb-70(which the usa canceled) and the u-2 is an american spy plane ment to go above sam missiles and take photos of the ussr then return home
@matttane MiG25 and later MiG31 were made for one purpose and that was total air domination. They were made to intercept ICBM's on the edge of space and shoot them down. They were made as a first line of defense against nuclear threat they are able to reach speeds of mach 3.2, and break the sound barrier in vertical position. They have to most powerful radar ever built, state of the art electronics etc loads of stuff regarding this craft are still classified. No its not related to U2.
@matttane hi there u2 spy plane was looked down on by 1959 designed English electric interceptor at 88000 ft the Americans had a shock as they thought u2 invincible at that height and then Brits developed tsr2 oops america did not like that so they stopped it . u2 was not as safe at altitude as what they thought
Very smooth fly congrats men !!! i wish i were in the botton sit : D meanwhile im going to download that plane for Flight simulator X :D srry my bad english saludos desde Republica Dominicana!
Space is made up of Dark energy and dark matter. its not empty, just that its density is very low.. GOOGLE IT and find it. By the way Foxbats were really awsome. Once INDIA made furor in pakistan by flying at about 80000 feets. they had no inventry to match up the class of foxbats
@MichaelTheTerrible No. You can't see stars there if you fly, because Earth is iluminating anything around you. If you would fly later in the day, maybe short before sunset and after, you could see them.
this guy is so lucky. he has his own mig 25 and can go into space whenever the hell he wants. but me, im just a freshman in highschool and i wish that i could just hop in a mig 25 and fly into space whenever. this video just relaxes me and lets me think about life. its a great video.
@spartadj Well, its not a "own" MIG 25. But thanks for your nice comment. Nice to hear, that this video just relaxes you. Tell me, what is needed that you are under stress? ;)
@spartadj Flying like this is a tourist attraction in Russia. As far as I know they no longer do flights in a mig 25. But you can still buy yourself a flight in a mig 29 though
i was reading that once, in 1995, an indian mig 25 was flying at 60,000 ft above pakistan on a spy mission, and broke the sonic boom over islamabad. the pakistanis scrambled f16s to interce, but it was no use because the f16 could not climb that high. i was sad that the indian air force retired this beauty. she will be missed
@PinkFloydFan95 I agree. It was the best view in my life so far. I've done it, beside our customers, to times. Second time I listened to "Pink Floyd's Learning to fly". ;) Best SEL
piece of shit plane. basically strapped 2 tumanskii turbojets to a crappy airframe. it only had titanium in some parts not all. The MiG-31 is waay better
Catch it if you can! It does NOT have to be an air ballerina, like the Su-27. Its only porpuose is speed. Its built for intercept the XB-70 Mach 3 bomber, and the SR-71 at extreme conditions and altitude. They DON'T have infinite budget and materials like the yenks, but they made it. The only plane that can withstand and hit against the fare more advanced, and overnumbered american planes at the gulf war.
@bandiras2 false. it could catch the sr-71 but it would begin to fail because at such high speeds the plane would start to fall apart because its engines were too powerful for its airframe. the mig-31 fixed that but theres no way anyone could have caught a SR-71. there had been attempts at shooting them down but all the blackbird pilots did was go full afterburn and evade the missile.
@SingularlyDatarific Well, the video was made in the early years of our company, and in this time we played a litte bit with the companys logo. The MIG-29 in the logo has nothing to do with edge of space flights, it symbolize only our connection to aerospace adventures.
Does "flight" include space"flight"? If so, highest altitude would be the Voyager 1 probe, at roughly
56 496 000 000 000 ft (17 172 036 474 164 m).
Manned Flight? Apollo Moon missions:
1 320 000 000 ft, (401 215 805 m).
Aircraft? Virgin Galactic Spaceship One:
329 000 ft (100 000 m)
SR 71 had a higher cruising altitude and faster speed. Doubtless could go higher if it ever bothered to do a ballistic arc, but after all these records, USA has nothing to prove.
I brought one of these babies for $550k - one of my favorite gems to fly amongst a few others that I have, truly pushes you at the highest and fastest limits. The SU-27 is alot more expensive to buy beyond the $5 million mark, buy maybe one day I will part with the cash. I think its awesome that civilians can now fly these planes as a leisure.
@e0012078 - jealous are we? lol. I sure did. In fact, you can pick up an ex-Soviet MiG-21 Fishbed or a MiG-15 for about half of the price of a MiG-25 if your short on cash. Just an idea. Search the net if you don't believe me. SU-27s and MiG-29s are much dearer in the $2-$5+ million range, but who knows maybe in another 10-20 years they will come down.
@e0012078 - yea definitely (lol.) Lets just say that already, and long term from now, it will cost WAY, WAY MORE than the initial purchase of 550k. The MiG 25 gulps down fuel like a thirsty camel and aviation fuel is as pricey as liquid platinum atm too (because of the Middle East.) I haven't been up (as frequently) because of it, but it still nice to see it sitting on the runway knowing its yours.

They were made as a first line of defense against nuclear threat they are able to reach speeds of mach 3.2, and break the sound barrier in vertical position. They have to most powerful radar ever built, state of the art electronics etc loads of stuff regarding this craft are still classified. No its not related to U2.
Ouija1210 5 months ago
@matttane hi there u2 spy plane was looked down on by 1959 designed English electric interceptor at 88000 ft the Americans had a shock as they thought u2 invincible at that height and then Brits developed tsr2 oops america did not like that so they stopped it . u2 was not as safe at altitude as what they thought

Space is made up of Dark energy and dark matter. its not empty, just that its density is very low.. GOOGLE IT and find it. By the way Foxbats were really awsome. Once INDIA made furor in pakistan by flying at about 80000 feets. they had no inventry to match up the class of foxbats

Alguém poderia se sensibilizar conosco e gravar um vídeo desses a noite né? Vi que não sou único que deseja ver as estrelas de dentro de um avião..
LucasZwierzykowski 6 months ago
Are those stars?
MichaelTheTerrible 7 months ago
@MichaelTheTerrible No. You can't see stars there if you fly, because Earth is iluminating anything around you. If you would fly later in the day, maybe short before sunset and after, you could see them.

3ISAMAGICNUMBR 7 months ago
@3ISAMAGICNUMBR No. Fly over the runway, waving with the wings, 180 degree turn and then landing. Normal procedure.
SEL9000 7 months ago
@3ISAMAGICNUMBR It looked like a salute fly-by, since it was rocking the wings.

i got a question is space really that dark?
Alan13726 7 months ago
@Alan13726 Yes, the space is just made of total emptyness, which makes it black.
Uberslime 7 months ago
@Uberslime thanks.
Alan13726 7 months ago
@Uberslime When you say "...which makes IT black." There really is not "it". :) I guess that's why it's hard to comprehend the idea of space.

Very nice video for my favourite aircraft the mighty MiG-25. Love watching this everytime.
This video along with Kevins video in the MiG-25 and his other videos inspired me to build my giant scale MiG-25 turbine model in New Zealand.

this guy is so lucky. he has his own mig 25 and can go into space whenever the hell he wants. but me, im just a freshman in highschool and i wish that i could just hop in a mig 25 and fly into space whenever. this video just relaxes me and lets me think about life. its a great video.
spartadj 8 months ago
@spartadj Well, its not a "own" MIG 25. But thanks for your nice comment. Nice to hear, that this video just relaxes you. Tell me, what is needed that you are under stress? ;)

@spartadj Flying like this is a tourist attraction in Russia. As far as I know they no longer do flights in a mig 25. But you can still buy yourself a flight in a mig 29 though

i was reading that once, in 1995, an indian mig 25 was flying at 60,000 ft above pakistan on a spy mission, and broke the sonic boom over islamabad. the pakistanis scrambled f16s to interce, but it was no use because the f16 could not climb that high. i was sad that the indian air force retired this beauty. she will be missed

piece of shit plane. basically strapped 2 tumanskii turbojets to a crappy airframe. it only had titanium in some parts not all. The MiG-31 is waay better
chillaxer1993 9 months ago
@chillaxer1993
Dear Santa...
bandiras2 9 months ago
@bandiras2 false. it could catch the sr-71 but it would begin to fail because at such high speeds the plane would start to fall apart because its engines were too powerful for its airframe. the mig-31 fixed that but theres no way anyone could have caught a SR-71. there had been attempts at shooting them down but all the blackbird pilots did was go full afterburn and evade the missile.
chillaxer1993 9 months ago
Pardon my nitpicking- but why did you put a Mig-29 on the logo?
SingularlyDatarific 9 months ago
@SingularlyDatarific Well, the video was made in the early years of our company, and in this time we played a litte bit with the companys logo. The MIG-29 in the logo has nothing to do with edge of space flights, it symbolize only our connection to aerospace adventures.
Best SEL
SEL9000 9 months ago 2
@SEL9000 Oh- okay! Thanks for clarifying that. By the way, the 92,500 ft, is that a cruising altitude, or a zoom trajectory max?
SingularlyDatarific 9 months ago
@SingularlyDatarific That was a ballistic flight, no zoom climb.
SEL9000 9 months ago
The Mig 25 is an amazing plane. It can do photo recon, hit speeds of Mach 3.2 max and fly as high as the U2 spy plane.
If it has a target to hit, it can swoop down can fire AA missiles. What a plane!

Enough Russia love. Be American.

@jlcmiles wait you bought one how much i been trying to find one
chippppp9000 10 months ago
@jlcmiles dude you did not buy a mig 25 for 550k.
e0012078 10 months ago
@e0012078 - jealous are we? lol. I sure did. In fact, you can pick up an ex-Soviet MiG-21 Fishbed or a MiG-15 for about half of the price of a MiG-25 if your short on cash. Just an idea. Search the net if you don't believe me. SU-27s and MiG-29s are much dearer in the $2-$5+ million range, but who knows maybe in another 10-20 years they will come down.
jlcmiles 10 months ago
@jlcmiles wow ! it must be very expensive for maintenance and up keeping not to mention storing it and buy the fuel ?
e0012078 10 months ago
@e0012078 - yea definitely (lol.) Lets just say that already, and long term from now, it will cost WAY, WAY MORE than the initial purchase of 550k. The MiG 25 gulps down fuel like a thirsty camel and aviation fuel is as pricey as liquid platinum atm too (because of the Middle East.) I haven't been up (as frequently) because of it, but it still nice to see it sitting on the runway knowing its yours.
