  • Patitucci is an amazing bassist.

  • Roger Federer on Bass,hahahahahaha :D

  • que suave video!

  • This is good stuff.

  • The album that this song is on was the first Chick Corea Elektric Band CD I ever had. I was 15 yrs old and had never heard Corea or Weckl play, but I kept seeing Dave Weckl in ads & articles inside Modern Drummer magazine so I went out & bought it. I've been a fan ever since!

  • what's the name of this song???

  • @junedby123 "got a match?"

  • You can find a better version of this live track by searching for "Dave Weckl Got a Match". There are parts 1 and 2 (6- and 10- minutes respectively). Enjoy!

  • is that Dave Weckl with them i see!?! lol

  • @keyboardfromheaven You are out of your mind.

  • @keyboardfromheaven no, if dream theater played jazz, they would remotely sound like this ;)

    all good brother!

  • @keyboardfromheaven if Chick Corea elektric band played metal they would sound better than dream theater

  • These guys are Untouchable.each guy masters his instrument,

  • It's amazing how relaxed yet burning they are!!!

  • who is on drums?

  • @dldw Dave Weckl ofc =)

  • @dldw dave weckl.

  • What is funny is that they look like they are doing the most easy thing in the world while playing two hundred notes per second!

  • I swear every time I listen to CCEB my Operating Thetan Levels jump about about six levels!!! I know, I know it's impossible because if I was already at OT XII (i wish) then jumping six would make me OT XVIII. Which everyone knows doesn't exist. But nevertheless this band is smokin!

  • nvm...Got a Match?

  • I have been looking for this song for 4 years. Does anyone remember he name???

  • check out 12 year old jazz/latin/classical piano prodigy christophermcginnis

  • oh god damn thats awesome.....

  • Wekle baby!!!

  • amazing, whats the name of the song?

  • Got A Match?

  • Got a Match?

  • Is this Jazz Rock???

    please answer quick

  • NO LOL....this is fusion

  • Contemporary really

  • when i first started trying to figure all the genres of jazz out so that i could understand what i was trying to do, that was my first guess as well. basically unless the term fusion is used after another genre eg. 'rock fusion' (an example of which is the band "Karizma") it is basically the term used for contemporary jazz. otherwise it can be used to fit it's purpose "a fusion of latin and rock" (e.g. santana maybe?)

  • pat Metheny mixes with a lot of things like ambiental songs, McLaughlin mix it with the proggresive rock of the 70'...but...when you call the contemporanry players fusion you are calling a second term..."Avant-garde", it's like the "destroy, erase and improve" that was talking Meshuggah...it's the renewal of the arts, it's the same fusion but with new influences...i don't know if you get the point...=P

  • when you name somethinl like "fusion" you have to consider a lot of things. First, the termn "fusion" it's quite imprecise, maybe subjective, but every fusion player has something in common, it has jazz roots. Contemporary jazz players like Guthrie Govan, Cynic, Exivious even Coprofago had something in comon, and every one is a great Fusion intepreter in theyr own styles. Santana it's a fusion player too, he had a lot of Latin Jazz influences, Mike Stern mix jazz with a smooth rock,

  • no its jazz fusion :P

  • Fresno City College Jazz big band played this song!!! I love it i love it love it love !t

  • Chick likes Spain, Spain liked Chick.

  • Grandissimo!

  • F***in Crazy!

    Just Awesome!

  • Too short! I wanna hear (and watch) the rest! BRILLIANT!!!

  • massa

  • Got a match (the tune)

That guitar p (is really Gambale??) have some problem with his nose (hehehe)

  • can anyone tell me the name of this tune? on which album can I find it?

  • It's "Got A Match?" from "The Chick Corea Elektric Band" (the self-titled album.)

  • Chick Corea = genius, one of the greatest white jazz musicians of all time along with Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny

  • I completely agree with 100% but there's no reason to highlight any differences based on race. If they're makin good music who cares what color they are?

  • What do you mean by "color"?

I see no "color", only people.

  • Keith is Hungarian Descent and Chick is Spanish/Italian Descent

  • Yes, I know. As I said, it shouldn't matter at all but in Ken Burns' Jazz series Wynton Marsalis ignores white jazz musicians like Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea completely

  • absolutly good !

  • what's the name of that song??

  • "Got A Match"

  • got a match

  • FRANK GAMBALE!!

  • es re perro

  • not this guys again?! they killed me!xD

  • hello! this is great ! can you please tell me from what concert it is ?

  • Maestros de maestros!!

  • Haha LOVED the audience response!

  • Oh my God, this band is fantastic and amazing!

Chick is my idol and my ispiration...

    God bless him!!!!

  • you mean Lord Xenu bless him.

  • I really like that little phrase 1:12 to 1:17 from Chick, just can't get enough of it!!

    Thanks for the upload

  • yeah titus at 1:12 Chick looked at Weckl like ... dude relax with me pudding

  • insane.

  • MUITO BOM O SOM

  • WOW! que lindo!

    Thanks for posting!

  • man coreas got fat hey

  • this guy has a very nice music that can easily attract the rich

  • what are you talking about?

  • People like Chick Corea don't play music to attract a 'certain' class in society. Ask Robert Johnson if he played because he wanted to attract the white folk. No, for these types of musicians; (Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Chick Corea and many more...) music is their way of life. They speak it better than words, so please do not mistake this as being 'music industry' music. Peace.

  • there arent many more...there are few more on their level actually :)))

  • god damn weckl, what a drive

  • One of my favorite bands, Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just saw chick corea the other day at the jazz fest in ottawa

    it was Awsome!!!!!

  • Really nice fusion jazz video, and Chick Corea is one of the best! Thanks for sharing this!

  • what is the name for this tune?

  • "Gotta Match" is the name of this tune. I toured with them in November 2004!

    They all kick ass!

  • What do you mean you toured with them

  • got a match? <3

  • chick looks like a school principal!

  • Or Edward James Olmos

  • it doesnt get better than this!

  • To be honest, I have trouble understanding Chick's music. Is he considered avant-garde?

  • i dont really like this but i love other electric band stuff

  • oh! awesome !!!! Got a match !!

  • what DVD is this from??

  • this is from concert of the album "TO THE STARS" this is after they have played their new music ..they jam old tunes that ones ruled the jazz scene..and i think this is the ultimate jazz band..the greatest players in their instruments combined

  • I have this dvd! And it's easily one of the best in my collection

  • dude! me too!

  • i'm not crazy for him either

  • and you're not musican

  • and you're not musican

  • how do you know that? if you know what i mean you dirty boy ;D

  • Hes married you idiot.

  • I've met and played with Eric Marienthal. He even taught me the end of "A Night in Tunisia"

    it was pretty cool.

  • what happend to frank gambale's head?!! - great track though :)

  • he shaves it LoL? -.-

  • The song is called "Got A Match" sadly Eric (sax player)doesn't play with them on the only album they have this song, but he plays it live.

  • if someone can help me, please tell me the name of this song.

  • These guys keep sending me off to the sky ,wonderful every time!!

  • Weckl and Patitucci drive this Ferrari like a true race car. Man I dig a great rhythm section.

  • I think this is from the Montreaux live DVD. I've heard them play this tune lots of times and every time I have to shop for new underwear. Good players inspire you to play better. Guys this good just make me want to give up!!!

  • such an amazing group, saw them a month ago, only wooten was in the lineup instead of patituci, he was equally amazing though

  • the song is called Got a Match?

    put that!!!

my dad saw them in 1989 when they were just learning this song

    lol

  • Chick Correa reminds me of Jerry Lewis ... LOL I love the Acoustic Band also, they shred.

  • why dont you upload the whole song? T.T

  • badass patitucci!!! the best!!!

  • Excellent band!

I saw them in Boston several times.

Too bad Gambale doesn't ever comp.

It's either nothing at all - or too many notes.....hahaha!

  • CHICK COREA ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im gonna see him tonight in his concert

  • Where did you see him? I just saw the band play at the Blue Note in NY a couple days ago. It was absolutely fantastic.

  • Hear the crowd "sing"the first bars of Chick's solo. Now THAT's a hip audience!!

  • That's what i said in spanish, compare this with the audience of a rock concert, they don`t "got a match" with a four notes melody; but here they improvise with Chick Corea, that's cool

  • My God! Did Frank Gambale have cancer??

  • No, just lost his hair :) He's healthy from what I know.

  • whats the name of this song??

  • Hello, the name of this song is "Got a Match?"

  • Got a Match

  • No, the name of the song is, in essence, a question. It's "Got a Match?"

    Good bye

  • I have this dvd and it's definitely the best dvd in my entire collection!

  • there's a dvd? how call?

  • its the DVD, live at Montreux 2004. its so great!

  • ok, thank's :)

  • this is nothing. this song lasts about 20 minutes on the DVD. It's the most repulsive thing I've ever seen in my life. lol.

  • Bassist is pretty good

  • this man in the sax is eric marienthal ..

  • I wish they had the full show or at lest the entire song posted!... this is pretty tight!... now, who´s the guitar player?... and who´s the sax player?

  • Guitar player is Frank Gambale

  • eric marienthal plays sax (one of my favs) and frank gambale on guitar.

  • It's pattitucci

  • Yaah, not too Bad...Kidding. Chick is the master

  • my god

  • i think that is Rick Fibrazzio on bass (hope i spelled it right). I saw him with them in '04, and he was great. Hell, anybody who can hang with these guys is a million light years ahead of 99.99% of all the people on the planet!

  • Then why would he(Rick Fibrazzio) bring Patitucci's signature Yamaha TRB 6 to the gig?? That's JP all day. He's sporting a trendy youthful haircut. Makes him look great, he had most of you all fooled!!

  • Man dats definitely Pattitucci - notise how tall is he, high position of his bass, right thump almost parallel 2 strings etc etc. and of course, most of all THAT DAMN HUGE NOSE!! lol

  • Yessss Sir..Gotta match!!!

  • I can't believe people come here to promote this scientology stuff. Give me a break! Chick Corea was a fantastic player way before he got involved with this THING. The world doesn't need ANOTHER RELIGION, which can only separate people, LIKE ALL OTHER RELIGIONS DO. Despite the fact that Chick Corea is involved with scientology, I still love his playing.

  • real soul food

  • Screw scientology...LONG LIVE THE ELEKTRIC BAND!!!!

  • Chick is the only Scientologist in the Elektric Band.

And the religion itself has been recognized as bonafide religion the world over. It just so happens that a lot of successful people use it to enhance their lives.

  • I wish someone would post the whole song. Frank Gambale's solo on that DVD in that song is unreal.

  • Brilliant!!!!

    Thanks

    Je'Ran

  • GASP was that Gambale i spied?

  • I saw gambale in reliable music (charlotte nc) in 91' They were playing that night in charlotte. He was messing with guitars. Then a few hours later I saw him playing with chick. Best concert I've ever seen period.

  • come on, that I-can't-beleive-it's-the elektric-band joke got old, here's the line-up Chick Corea, Frank Gambale, Eric Marienthal, John Patitucci, and Dave Weckl. just getting the facts out there

  • it's john patitucci on bass, I have the DVD.

  • It's Patitucci. He's playing his signature Yamaha bass and using Aguilar amps.
