In Super Mario bros. Series, the enemies that throw Spike Balls are called Spike, Orginally from Super Mario bros. 3. There is a HUGE Bowser at the end of Super Mario bros. Wii.
It was known that Princess Peach was supposed to be one of the playable characters. (Hence, I think our Toad might have joined the cast; like in the western edition of Mario 2.) Sadly, Miyamoto stated that they had problems programming her skirt. That sucks, doesn't it?
Well... they did fix the multiple play option the DS version had. I wonder if they're already working on this one.

(Updated) P.S. Great review, guys. I actually enjoyed it.
Probably the same reason they were forced to add an orange cap at the end of the classic 80's Transformer Megatron. Because it was mistaken for a real gun. Then after that, there was some hoopla that required all toy guns to have the orange barrel or some crazy business like that. Back in the 80s you could get away with anything, people weren't as uptight as they are now.
@EffnDan Honestly. By any chance do you remember those yellow and black "Zebra" guns that shot those small hard plastic pellets that would sting when you got hit with them? They were the best. But I guess too many stupid kids were shooting each other in the face with them so they took them off the market.
@EffnDan Awesome review! I've been wanting this but haven't got the chance to get it. Btw, those "sh*tballs" were in Paper Mario on the N64. They're called "Fuzzies" :P
Adam11ess thanks for that info im getting my points card soon then. I play them often on a 40in lcd that would be sweet or my 24inLCD for pc using mame
This is a really good review :). The only thing I am thinking is in Super Mario Bros. 3 they let you get the raccoon feather right away. In the 1st stage you just went left a little bit and got it right away. I think Nintendo was just putting a little Nostalgia in the 1st level letting you get flying powers in the 1st stage.
Nope, it's strictly only compatible with the wiimote. There are parts of the game that need the motion sensor) like the wiggling your controller to fly in the sky with the propeller hat and you also wiggle the controller when you are in a bubble to get yourself closer to your friends so they can pop you out)
I thought the same thing. Similarities: Spin Jump Flying Item Yoshi Koopas are main enemies Climb on fences Koopa Kids Ghost Houses Pick up stuff Mario world enemies I call it New Super Mario World
Oh it is, this is the best Mario Game since the Super NES Days, it's a total throwback to the old school games. This is the sequel that we've been waiting for. Truly is a great game.
Hey, Jeff and Dan here - this is out 2nd channel. We're gonna be doing a playthrough of world 9 for our next video, but it's going to be on our 2nd channel (under this name), It's going to be us playing through with commentary, but we warn you, it's going to be pretty crude stuff, so if you are easily offended you may want to think twice about watching it, but if you have a twisted mind and want a good laugh, keep your Eyes peeled for it only at ExtremeEffnDan2
Super Mario bros. Wii is not hard. The Orginal Super Mario bros. 2 from Japan on Famicom (Japanese NES) looks way harder.

I think I heard something about never having a water level in the final castle... The final castle of the original SMB has an underwater section.
DoGeeseSeeGod24 1 year ago
ok its not any harder than smb3 or smw

Ya, I still have my original nintendo with the grey gun, before they changed it to orange for some odd reason.

Acctually, the Koopa kids where in Mario and Luigi: Super star saga, for the GBA, so I guess that would be the last appearence of them.

Great review. I love how Nintendo goes back to the retro gameplay of the classic Mario games as you guys have shown wonderfully.

You can flip over on the gates in the castles, but only in one castle I think.
MasterShake1414 2 years ago
You are correct. We realzied this the 2nd time playing through (when looking for all the coin). The castle (I beleive) is in World 3.

Hey I have a question. Can you play this game with the classic controller? If not can you play it with the gamecube controller?

Isn't it also possible to play it with the Wiimote and Nunchuk?
yoyo10231995 2 years ago
Hmm, it appears so. According to the back of the box. We never used the Nunchuk, so can't vouch on the control scheme of it.
EffnDan 2 years ago
I imagine it's a much better and more retro experience to play with just the Wiimote.
yoyo10231995 2 years ago
THANKS FOR THIS!
I love how they take all those old things and put them in this game haha

nice review, dudes.
I think I'm gonna do my first play-through, on co-op mode. Since that seems to be the new feature, and apparently it can make it more challenging.
