If the firefighters had gone inside, only to find their ways blocked once they got to the crash zone, a lot more lives would have been lost. Not all conspiracies are a joke. And I recognize that Joe Schmo in the public probably doesn't have it all right, but is occasionally on to something. I take every theory with a grain of salt, and test them, and use Occam's Razor on whatever's left. I have several theories about 9/11, for instance.

They did have stress in their voices.
The signal for your cell phone travels at the speed of light 186,282 miles per second, so a few hundred miles an hour would make no difference. Every form of electromagnetic radiation travels at light speed

By the way, for anyone thinking someone died in there hiding from the heat, we're talking about the BASE of the building that was not on fire or hot.. dusty and all, probably, but otherwise no other immediate signs of danger.. except maybe the explosions coming from below them. It would make sense to put bodies in the basement, because when it comes down, everything gets crushed, no evidence.

@BlackyKerr - That's actually a good question... I did a search and found a video on google that proves it. This video first of all has been videotaped by the team "we are change" and the video can be found on that web site identifying him. He is also interviewed after this video was taken. I'm glad I read your question though, I feel gullible now just thinking this video could have been misleading and I hadn't considered it.

I think it was John P O'Neill former FBI lead terror hunter who was on to the 9/11 caper and it was reported his body was found in the stairwell.
O'Neill started his new job at the World Trade Center on August 23, 2001, just 19 days before the attacks In late August, he talked to his friend Chris Isham about the job. Jokingly, Isham said, "At least they're not going to bomb it again," a reference to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. O'Neill replied, "They’ll probably try to finish the job."

His Horse won the Kentucky derby back , i beleive 1997? @GalaticSpaceHero another of the Prince's horses won two legs of the Triple Crown a few years before and nothing happened to him then. I have no idea what that has to do with anything, just an observation. Prince Salman's family had a history of heart problems, several other family members died at young ages as well.

And if you're going for a conspiracy theory here, the Prince's horse didn't win the Derby til 2002, a full 8 months AFTER the attacks. Prince Ahmed bin Salman didn't die until later that year (2002). So.... they planned the 9/11 attacks for retribution of a horse that hadn't run yet and an owner who hadn't died yet?

@GalaticSpaceHero Okay, I may not be up on my conspiracy theories, but I KNOW horse racing. I was THERE in 2002 when War Emblem won the Derby. And he wasn't even a Saudi horse, Prince Salman bought him from a guy in Illinois two weeks before the Derby. Not only that, Prince Salman made the largest PRIVATE (not corporation) donation to the Red Cross after the 9/11 attacks. Before War Emblem (2002), the only foreign owner to win the Derby since at least 1994 was from Japan.
