C64 has the best version of the picture of the witch, also the flip screen scrolling makes the other two versions unplayable. The colour clash on the speccy means you can hardly see the keys too and that's on an emulator not the god awful dot crawling colour bleeding RF output from a real speccy on a real TV)
Also the constant remark about low saturation on 64 colour palette is a non-issue, everyone had a C64 with a composite monitor or bog standard TV which means you turned the colour nob up!
Oh, it`s "Witches` Kitchen" - or so - muahaha. "Hexenküche" was it called in Germany. Nice Game, but too difficult imo (don`t get very far) - the Sequel`s also a tough one. :/
The C64 Version wins this Battle. no doubt about that. X)
@dartsma464 X) i just play this Game nowadays for the nostalgia. Nothing more. Good gfx, catchy music...but it isn`t Giana Sisters, Katakis or similar Games, where you can spend hours and hours even nowadays and have some f****n fun. ;) So...it`s a battle that wins the C64 IMO. But to choose between all these frustrating conversions is kinda like to choose between Pestilence and Cholera, you know ? XD and, yeah,it`s the difficult that make this game a fail - nothing else.
I loved to play Cauldron 1&2 on my C64{i like how witch hair move when you fly},i never finished it,i just enjoyed flying around, nice use of Old English in the game, yes,Amstrad version is the best one
Heres a question for your podcast Andy, was there ever a game you had a kid that scared you so much, that you refused to load it up?
I was like that with FEUD on the Amstrad, because if you ever saw the rival Wizard on screen (your brother) he'd kill you instantly, so that would have my heart racing all the time whilst playing it.
But for some reason, this game always confused me with Wizball for some reason, and that one where you're a flying/bouncing pumpkin.
@Lemmy556 you know what i havent played the sequel in years, i completely forgotten about it, i will get round to doing it at some point but not this month
Pretty close this one as they all look very much alike. And yes! I think we all hate those dungeons where you get no clues about if you should jump, walk or fall into the next screen.
man this going to be a hard one right the zx color clash make it a bit harder to find the keys but the Amstrad and c64 make it easy but the magic meatier as your heath is a little unfair but is look like a really nice platform
