  • bacteria will come up to digest the oil anyway. there is no real problem with oil spills anyway, all the oil will all be long gone before the entire planet is uninhabitable by it's spills. The carbon emission is the real problem.

  • Beacuse the ASSHOLES at BP want to still make a profit from the mess. FUCK BP!!

  • Yes this bacteria is available: Unriem Technologies DOES have it and it DOES work

look up unirem technologies on you tube

  • when people see you filming yourself while walking in the streets, do they think you're crazy?

  • was thinking the same thing

  • I think you're right. One problem. Considering all the financial moves before the oil gusher, it means the event was on purpose. The disaster accomplishes global goals. They may need to nuke it to close the leak. First nuke Goldman and JP Morgan-Chase and seal that crap off. The real source of many problems.

  • Clearly the the collusion of industry & government are allowing this ecological damage to continue by choosing not to use bioremedition with 2 decades of history of success with many large oil spills ! The marine biologists will lead & the corporatocracy will follow !

  • Good thinking. It took me a week to finally think of a name for this that I could Google. And then I found it right away. I contacted the two companies I found and they were having a lot of trouble getting through to anyone in authority.

Their sites do say the bacteria die off once they've eaten the oil, and also that fish rise to the top to feed off their by-products as well. Google spillfighters and osprey biotechnics for a start. Help these people out!

  • 1) the microbes make O2 deadzones that make it difficult for bottom feeders.

  • @thinker900

Take into account the turbidity of the oil, the Benthic zone beneath the oil is in bad shape to begin with - and O2 diffusion across the water surface is already hindered. The oil would cause different nm of light admission which in turn would likely create colder than normal conditions. Penetration would be far from the norm. The microbes would probably not create the anoxic conditions on the scale that blooms of diatoms or dinoflagellates cause

  • @JH1776Publius Actually bacteria can work quickly by multiplying rapidly and consuming the oil. A skimmer may be able to remove the oil effectively from a small area, but bacteria work exponentially faster on a large scale. You can't use a skimmer, or even thousands of skimmers, to remove over 60 million gallons of crude oil from the gulf of mexico. Search youtube for a video titled: "Gulf oil spill solutions" by the user KilltheNWOnow.

  • Obama Bureaucrats Stoped Oil Sucking Barges From Getting To Work–To Check For Life Jackets

    This is just insanity.

“Against Governor Jindal’s wishes the federal government blocked oil-sucking barges yesterday because needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board and were having trouble contacting the owners.”

You mean to tell me more wild life and livelihoods have to die so that we can check a list? Imagine your health care being taken care of by these people.

  • Unfortunately, oil eating microbes work slower than mechanical skimmers. What a skimmer can remove from the environment in a minute may take weeks to be consumed by microbes.

  • Zennie...

While I would love to wake up in the morning and something would have ended this trouble for our country...I just dont believe that bringing in a new form of animal to this story will work....

    Has it worked anywhere else?

Has any country dumped such things of 100 miles of oil and it worked?

or is this just something that works in the lab?

  • Oilgate day 59, America held hostage by Obama Administration incompetence.

Fact: It took over 50 days to get an EPA waiver to bring Dutch skimmers into action.

Now the same incompetents, the EPA, are trying to reassure the American people that the massive cap-and-tax energy hikes won’t hurt them at all.

    Just trust them?

    Fat chance.

  • The Obama Administration turned down offers to help clean up the spill from The Netherlands and the British Government just days after the explosion. They didn’t accept the British help because they didn’t have the proper paperwork. The administration still has not given the OK to allow emergency workers to use a Maine company’s oil boom even though they were made aware of the warehouse full of containment boom back on May 21.

  • you have no idea about the side effect of the technologie your talking about,

but its a good point that people are interresse in finding solution, its already a global world probleme hope the 1st power on the planet will do righ

  • Oilgate Day 58

This is a Glorious Day! Yesterday our Glorious Leader unveiled his Glorious Five-Year Plan! The harvests will be bountiful!

  • "Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things you couldn't do before." Wait 8 days to let it get good and serious eh? Now…Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………

Everyone be very quiet while President Woods, er, Obama sinks this putt.

  • On April 29th, Ron Gouget, who once managed Gulf spill response teams, publicly pilloried the administration’s response to the tragic oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Gouget helped create the 1994 plan that allowed expedited burning of oil as soon as a major spill had occurred — without having to wait for permission or approvals.

    If this was Obama’s 9-11.

He sure hasn’t acted like it.

    More like Obama’s Oilgate!

  • Love the shape of your head, zennie

  • THEN THAT BACTERIA WILL MAYBE EAT US FROM THE INSIDE OUT! THEY NEEDS TO SCOOP UP THE OIL AND PUT IT IN A LARGE CANAL SOMEWHERE AND BURN IT OR RECYCLE IT SOMEWAY!

  • Oil-eating bacteria might end up eating a lot of other things even after the oil is gone.

  • this spill was on purpose.

Goldman Sachs Sold $250M of BP Stock Before Spill, Goldman Chairman is also BP Chairman

    this was planed

  • monkey

  • Zennie I was thinking the same thing the moment the started using toxic clean up products that will probably just make it worse. BP also said they would use a safer less toxic clean up product that has just been sitting in a parking lot for a month. Check out Greg Palast report on BP. This isn't the first time they haven't followed proper safety protocol to pinch a penny.
