  • Someone with the name "longlivethesixties" leaves out Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, Mama Cass, and Frank Zappa? I like the video but your name misrepresents who might be in this video. Also, I came here from another tribute video where you wrote, "check out my video about this. I don't think I left ANYONE out." What does Kurt Cobain have to do with the sixties?

  • @darkstar46036

Honestly, this is the most offensive comment I have ever read.

There is absolutely nothing in the description of this video that states anything about this particular video being about the sixties.

Thus, putting Kurt Cobain in there is absolutely fine. Seriously, the whole longlivethesixties thing is ridiculous.

It's like of someone with the same "theblackkeysareawesome" made a video about the White Stripes.

There would be nothing wrong with that.

  • @darkstar46036 People just look for the bad in things.

    Anyways:

I apologize for the comment about not leaving any one out.

If I had put EVERYONE that anyone wanted me to put in here, the video would be far too long. (no one wants to watch a 20 minute long video)

    Okay, I am done ranting.

    Good day.

Also, thank you for the "I like this video" ( I did not ignore this positive phrase)

  • This would be the best tribute to dead music god`s if you didn't passed Cliff Burton, Randy Rhoads, and dimebag darrell. Still is a great tribute

  • @migpedroso I can't include EVERYONE though, yah know?

  • @longlivethesixties lmao, sure i do, that`s why i say is still a great tribute! Understand though that being these 3 dudes like Music Gods to me, i cannot consider it the best one, not criticizing, you`ve done an awesome job mate

  • dear lord or devil who ever owns these souls we will give you justin beiber, lady gaga, and all there fallowers for these people back.

  • Great tribute to the greatests!

  • keith moon was amazing

  • nice bt u shld of done a better song for entwistle!

  • and where the fuck is moon?!?!?!

  • moons there...you crazy? lol.hes the second person.(right after john lennone in the eginning) i wouldnt forget him =] yeah i shouldve done a better one for entwhistle, thats pissed me off for awhile...but i made this video a WHILE ago and I didnt actually think about what songs i was doing..i just did random ones that i liked.

  • holy fuckin shit...

  • XD XD

  • @LongLiveWho hes the second person

  • omg, i love all of them, they are all brilliant!!! :D:D RIP

  • A truly wonderful tribute. I thought I might cry at some bits, especially when Syd Barrett popped up. Although I probably would have backed it with a song that he wrote, like See Emily Play or Jugband Blues as opposed to Eclipse. Great job, well done.

  • Thanks =]

  • i played that song because it was about him and all. =] thanks too!

  • You forgot Tiny Tim!!!!

  • john entwistle was a true rock and roll legend, he basically invented rock bass playing!!!!!!! btw, great job in this video, u covered all of the great rock legends who passed away in the last few decades!!!!!!

  • my generation, yay, a legendary rock song!!!!!!

  • u forgot cliff burton and bon scott

  • wheres cliff burton

  • i know )=

  • where is BON SCOTT ac/dc

  • i really like it, but maybe u should put phil lynott from thin lizzy... but anyway, the vid rox

  • I'm glad someone puts Kyrt Cobain in the dead talented musicans list

  • why wouldn't I?

  • a lot of guys died with the frist leter in the name is j

  • brovo brovo

  • THAT'S MUSIC, now it's all gay disney music, pop, rap, reggaeton, all tht shit, LONG LIFE TO ROCK AND ROLL

    THE RAMONES

    KISS

    FRANK ZAPPA

    AC/DC

    METALLICA

    GUNS N' ROSES

    and the REALLY MUSIC

  • ...i know what you mean.....

im the one having to grow up in this generation of awful music though.

  • yeah,go to street and ask anybody younger than 15 about ANY rock band from 60's to 90's and they won't know what you're talking about ( some eccepcions), or they just will know the most popular song, ex: kiss-i wanna rock and roll all night

ramones- blitzkreig bop ( they know it as HEY OH LET'S GO)

DON'T LET THE MUSIC DIE THIS WAY!!!

  • and it's not just for rock, for example Bob Marley was one of the greatest musicians ever born, and he made reggae, NOTHING LIKE REGGAETON ( shit)

"Most people wouldn't know good music if it came up and bit them in the ass" - Frank Zappa

  • yeah...i do have a few friends who like the same music as me...mostly because I introduced it to them though.

    yeah, bob marley was amazing.

    and, great quote!

  • Shine on Syd.

  • wheres jerry wtf

  • i couldn't do EVERYONE.

i left a lot of people out...i know.

but if I put in everyone it would have been like 20 minutes...

  • Excellent video Rachel,it reminds me all my favorite singers cause now music is fucked up..there's almost no good artists its al disney or reggaeton and that sort of crap....

  • yeah, unfortunately.

  • asome

  • DeeDee looks a lil like my boyfriend in 4:15. Hah sorry, I'm random. XDDDD

    But this is great!

  • Rock In Peace <3

  • Woah... what a wicked tribute video ! VERY well done! What impresses me the MOST is that your only in gr8 !? Your damn cool "already" . This trib vid is very comprehensive, too. Even Buddy Holly? That's so dope. Syd Barrett ? Impressive as well. Sweet that Morrison & Hendrix made your list. Have you checked out Janis Joplin? Hey, your down with Buddy Holly? Did you also know that Richie Valens died in the SAME plane crash? He was like only 16 YRS old! Def the YOUNGEST Rock martyr of them ALL

  • ya. i like janis joplin but i diddnt put her in the vid cuz... well...i left a lot of people out. not on porpose..just...i diddnt want it to be like 20 minutes long ya know? ya buddy holly, richie valens, and the big bopper. (how did you know i was in grade 8?)

  • ya for real, i totally understand..YT only allows up to 10 mins anyways, right? Sorry for throwing in the Gr8 thingy my bad if that sucked. (it was on your Chanl)

  • i know! its crazy! because i totally could have gone to 20 minutes or something...which is really depressing when you think about it. =/ .. haha no thats fine i was just wondering how you knew. =p

  • #2 is my hero. KEEF =]

  • Long Live Moonie!

  • what a great tribute! :)Thanks for sharing! they left a huge mark in musical history!.

  • Good Video! R.I.P. Syd Barrett

  • I know its who you love but what about Bon Scott

  • john bonham is the best drummer ever, keith moon is the 2nd best. i wouldve given anything to go see them back in the 60s(moon) and the 70s(bonham). R.I.P. both of them. both died at the age of 32.

  • ya see, i have it switched. keith first, john second. i know, i really need a time machine. =P

  • I SO wish i could have seen bonham play live. He was incredible

    RIP John Bonham

  • i know...its depressing )=

  • really good, but: sound quality could be better and: would help me with some of the guys if you'd written the bands' names to it

  • well i figured the music would be good enough for knowing what band they are in. i mean you see :joe strummer and you hear a song by the clash well then that means that joe strummer was from the clash. THAT and i dont know how to make subtitles....i have a really crappy movie-making thing. my crappy movie program is also why the sound quality is so bad. =P

  • good vid 10 . 10..... but rock memoriel still rocks...... i think its the skynyrd free bird track that does it.... keep makin em.. tala

  • Rach, you forgot Mama, Janis, Jerry, Dennis, etc etc...you'd never be able to fill the entire pantheon but you did pick all the best of most of them..

    God bless ya's.

    Jbirdy

  • great tribute :) I wish they were still with us. It's so sad to know that some of the greatest artists of our time are gone. Great video!

  • awesome,

    just totally awesome.

although when you first showed john i started crying.

    but anyway, great video.

    i really like yer video's.

    keep it upp.!

  • aww im sorry!!! and thanks! its okay, whenever anyone talks about john and george being dead i get teared up too. i went to johns memorial in new york city and also saw the place he was shot, which was across the street. and i was crying like crazy =p when i went to the memorial it was PACKED with people, and the people next to me kept lookin at me kinda weird because i was crying.. i couldnt help myself!!!

  • that's one of my goals

    go to john lennon's memorial.

but if i were you i would be looking wierd at them for not crying.

how can you remember a wonderful creative beautiful man and not cry.????

  • ohmygosh i know!!!!! but they were all very calm for some reason... i also saw THE EXACT place he got shot. oh my gosh, i was so depressed that day...i got to new york city alot so i could go back if i wanted too but i would rather not cry in public like that again and feel depressed for like 2 hours after i left..

  • Fantastic Video!! You captured all those wonderful people so well!! I miss them all, too!! Thank goodness we still have the music and the memories to hold on to...

  • unfortunately though, i dont really have much in the way of memories from the 60s and 70s, being only 13. its quite depressing. so i just learn as much about all of it as i can and feel jealous of all the people who got to be alive during those wonderful times...

  • Fab...Gear!

  • i like these people. thay are amazing people. just like rachel. (you)

    haha. bye.

  • byyyyyeeeee emily lol. we need to put up our georgous beatles song we wrote!!!!!!! *we love them ya ya ya* hehe.

  • been a while since i watched this great video,almost a 1000 views!!

  • (= i know im like "WOW" cuz i just made this one day cuz i had the idea, i liked it and, was horribly bored. i had only made one vid before this, and i barely knew how to use the software, so i just kinda played around with this for like a week till i finally got it lol, i only excpected it to get like 10 veiws, from my freinds at school who i asked to watch it. (=

  • so many great musicians :( makes me sad. if only they were around today, music would be so different and there would be so much more. r.i.p to all.

  • 666 Views CREEPY!

  • i love this!!!

  • KATIE J. <3 the beatlesismylife toooo. ur page is soo beatley/nigeley lol....THESE GO TO ELEVEN!!!me and emily r thinkin bout putting our song up on here lol.(the beatless one we geniously wrote =D) I LOV THAT SONG. oh! and me and addie are gunna try to maybe get the J song up here lol wev been trying FOREVER .the camera always erases it!!!!!! or her cp has a freak attack so wer gunna try at my house...with MY camera...when we get it up ill show u it right away! its so sick funny =p HEYHEYHEY(=

  • 7:21 damn he was fucked up.

you know, he got so crazy he developed this philosiphy that if he made a choice, he would limit his choices, so he made no choices and stayed in his bed all day, creating a life with infinite choices. but really, that's a life with no choices at all.

they say that crazy people are brilliant. crazy, but brilliant. very true about syd

  • thats how it is with many people like that...brian wilson...same deal with the bed thing. lots of people that are so briliant are also so insane.

  • what's the song for joe strummer?

  • Train in Vain(stand by me)

its from the album: london calling.

    its one of my favorites!!!

    do u like it?

  • yeah it's awesome. i don't have the London Calling album, but i got Singles so all goods.

  • 5 stars i am subscribing

  • thanks!!

  • im glad u got my favorite kurt Cobain on there

  • what about eric carr from kiss

  • im not that into kiss

  • R.I.P. SYD!

  • awesome video,5 stars

    R.I.P John Lennon

  • how about Elvis,,the king

  • ya know what...i actually dont like elvis..sooory. i just did the people that i love and made an impact on MY life.

  • Nice video. Loved Eclipse - nice ending. Good choice of photos, too. But, about Elvis: you probably understand, but I'll point out that he did impact you indirectly, as he was an influence on many of those you put in this tribute. It's not that I'm a fan of Elvis, but I do recognize his omniscient influences - he really was the King! Just a thought. Thanks for posting!

  • Mick Ronson, Buddy Miles, Peter Tosh, Janis Joplin, Mama Cass...

  • yet again, the people in MY OPINION who i love and are great and who made an impact on my life. those people are great musicians, but they diddnt impact me in an way, and i dont love there music.

  • GRRREEEAAATTTT love it

but the only one i was looking for was Bon Scott

I love all those musicians, but i looove bon scott

  • Good job! but...what about Bon Scott??

  • huh?

  • It saddens me to think that these people who spread so much joy and insperation are no longer with us. This video is BRILLIANT TOP JOB!

  • awsome keep up the good work!! older music is so much better!!

  • Loved the video but could have used a way better song for John Lennon

  • well i thought it worked cuz it was a very john-lennon-ey kinda song ya know? with the message and stuff and it was one of the first really angry songs the beatles made about politics, and he wrote it and showed that he was like really individual and stuff cuz it was diffeent then most beatles stuff and so ya..but your right i could have done imagine or working class hero or something from his solo career..but...i just wanted to do revolution.

  • oh and im guessing you like modest mouse? i saw them as the opening act for REM during the summer. they were really good live!

  • I loveyour name.

  • im suprised someone knows Syd Barret cause some people think that David Gilmour was always the guitarist of pink floyd

  • man i miss all of them, this is what music was and is, todays music can never touch the

oldies, and this is the best tribute video i

    ever seen, nice work!!!

  • thank you (= and yes, music today can NEVER touch the oldies!

  • where is Bon Scott?anyway, cool video,5 stars!

  • jerry Garcia was prett y good. Karen Carpenter wasn't really R&Roll but she was an awesome force of nature.

  • Nice job on the vid. I listen to some of those dudes...Where are the females? Are there any..all I can think of are Patsy Cline

  • Elvis, Ritchie Valens, Richard Wright, Michael Hutchence,James Brown, Roy Orbison, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Frank Zappa, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles.

You may not have listened to them but i saw your response to someone else's video saying you don't think you forgot anyone?!

There are just a few pretty big ones.

    Other than that, nice video.

  • i diddnt forget anyone i listen too.

  • did you forget jim morrison?

  • no!!!! i have jim morrison!!!!

  • i feel really offended!!!

    no frank zappa?

  • look. these are the musicians I listen too. if a person is not there..i dont listen to them. sorry. and i really dont like negative comments considering i worked pretty hard on this. anyway i dont listen to frank zappa, these are the poeple i listen too. infact, i havnt really been exposed to frank zappa although i know who he is... ill check him out. but thanks anyway for watching!

  • xD

sorry, i supposed you liked frank zappa for the musicians you listed (i like the same, except for jim morrison, i'm not that fan) so i was like, surprised cos i thought you forgot him x3

anyway good video, each and everyone of these deserve this and more

oh and the dude up there is wrong, except for johnny cash and frank zappa, none of them desserve more than the one you listed

  • Hey! amazing job. i thought it was great. good music. good pictures. sad deaths.....

  • oh jokes ignore that comment, didn't see the earlier one...

  • what does "oh jokes ignore that comment" supposed to mean?

  • Don't worry.. i just mean i did not see the comment before saying Syd Barret wrote that song or whatev...

and btw how is eclipse about Syd Barret? I'm confuzed..........

  • cuz its about insanity and how he went insane and left the band...read the lyrics..youll get it. also read the lyrics to brain damage because the two songs gooo together and are both about sid...read them!! youll get it.

  • So true.

But Syd Barret wasn't even part of Pink Floyd when they did "Eclipse". just pointing that out.

  • i am aware of that. the whole album was based on syds insanity though...and eclipse was written about him(well thats my iterpretation) so i thought it was good to put there. ya know what i mean?

  • dont forget rick wright

  • i dont know who rick wright IS even. sry

  • he's pink floyd's keyboardist who died really recently, i think last month

  • oh shooot ur right i heard about that when it happened. how he heck did i forget that. i feel really stupid..urrrg i shouldve put him in!!! aaah!i feel really bad now..

  • Richard Wright of Pink floyd should be on here

    he died recently

  • ya i knoe)= when i made it o forgot to put him in...... once i relized it, it was already on youtube and i was like "shoot"

  • be good if we could switch lol.Still love all this stuff you got on there longlivethesixties.Excellent well done thanks for the memories.

  • not into the sixties any longer, even though was around for these times.Have moved on to new bands now,but loved your vid well done. Will have a look now and again just to remember how it was.

  • well i wasnt around in those times, i wish i was.

    ..hey! maybe we can switch(=

  • Well done mate, thanks for sharing!

  • A sad reminder of the fragility of life.

A thought provoking video Rachel of some of the greatest talent to emerge in the last 40 odd years. On a lighter note, where`s Elvis! I know he wasn`t tecnically a musisian but he was one of the penultimate performer/influences!

  • to tell you the truth dude..im not that into elvis..so i didnt put him here. i put the people that i listen too...but thanks for the comment!

  • Alright "dude" I`m not either, you don`t find any Elvis on my channel. Thanks anyway for responding!

  • GREAT video! I loved how you used the artist's music behind the photos... especially using Pink Floyd's Eclipse which was written for Syd Barett at the end as the credits scroll by and the video fades to black. Very cool and the perfect choice for the closing song.

  • i luv ur work, rly :P

xlnt video ¬w¬ y rely luv the Beatle's, The Ramones & The sex pistols :3 style

good work, good songs, good Gods (i mean gods, they are a rock god *w*)- 5 STARS!!!

  • Hey remember me? good job on the video. Make another one of these when one of the current rolling stones [like mick or keith] die(because very unfortunatly that will happen some day). any way good job again 5/5

  • ya i remember you..ur the person with ur pictue of mario, right?... ya im gunna also do that when paul mccarntey and ringo starr die)= so sad to think about...and when david bowie dies too. now im really depressed...

  • Amazing job! If you put the bands that they had, that woulb be better...just for the people to know :)

  • thank you and yeah, i know, i remembered at the end about doing the bands, and then i was like, screw it iv already taken like 2 days doing this so whatever. i just figured most people would know cuz of the song in the background..did you know what bands they were in? i thought the song was pretty good in the background to tell what band they were in. but ya..

  • awesome video . RIP

  • good effort rachel, much appreciate the sounds, give me a shout when you do another !

  • great jobs rachel!! you need to show me how to make these the next time i come over. aww not i am all depresses RIP.
