As recent as 1912, the end of Qing Dynasty (or Manchu Dynasty), China map goes as far as Hunan Island and does not include South China Sea. In 1949, when the communists won over China, that was when the China dogs began to expand by redrawing its map to include South China Sea. All the world maps by other countries show Paracel and Spratly Islands in the South China Sea belong to Vietnam. China sees potential oil there, that's why they want to rob it from Vietnam. China and Japan Must agree and sign some colaboration treatises in the coming summit over the next few days. That is so important for world peace.
The US has invited China`s leader to the US and I hope this is to encourage a strong colaboration (economic etc) between China and Japan.
Also Korea is preparing a Nuke Test in the Area which works for nothing else than bringing more tension to this change of peacefull + economic colaboration between China and Japan.

There is only once in history that Chinese landed on Japanese soil and launched an invasion attack. That's during the Mongolian Yuan dynasty and they failed so the Japanese civilians didn't get touched a bit.

The guy at the end says that some people consider the asian region to be a bigger threat than the middle east. I am by no means an expert, but I think in the long term its true. If that area becomes destabilized, especially with the U.S. somewhat weakened by debt and other military commitments, who knows what could happen. Damn you communism!

I dont get it man . Why would Japanese and Chinese really want to start conflict or war between themselves. What possible gain is there in Japan which lacks resources such as oil. Chinese and Japs should be united and all those East Asian ,because they have huge investments in US treasury bonds etc. Once the East Asia unite and devastate the US economy and destroy their currency all the East Asian will have more to consume. Japs are in an abusive relationship with US admit it.

Japan has the 4th largest military spending in the world, that's a very high figure compare to the total land mass they have to defend, I believe most of this over spending has been pressured onto Japan by the US arms industries.

Asians should not be well governed by Asians alone by creating, say, economic zone like EC. . Neither China nor Japan should take a leadership in developing such a idea. I guess that what US have in their mind. This idea is coming all the way from the time when most of the Asian countries, say, China, India. colonized by Wstern Powers. bullshit, Japan is the last country China wants to be hostile against. Stratigically speaking, the worst location of conflict for china is the east china sea, taiwan straight. The 'first island chain' can be the nooce for China or the shield.
