He actually did become a monk. In 1990 he became an official Shaolin Disciple under Abbot Shi YongXin. My master/head-coach Shi YanXu recalls seeing him long ago. Shi XiaoLong(Ashton) and Shi XiaoBao, at the time were Abbot Shi YongXin's favorite. However, XiaoLong first left when the film world took him away. XiaoBao left in recent years.
