@TheBigbutt11 triggers basically clear up the sound. lets say you have it on your bass. If you were to barely hit the bass the hit would still register. It's really good for faster speeds.

@tdemerica1 And....microphones.. A trigger is basically the same thing as a mic. It picks up vibrations, converts them into electrical signals, and then outputs through a speaker.

@TheYonderGod triggers have a clearer sound. when you play metal, microphones don't always pick up the bass drum clear enough when you play double bass because the mic sounds more rumbly and muffled than a trigger.

@skeletorphd if you really want to get into death metal you have to start from the beginning with Floridian Death Metal. bands like Atheist, Obituary, Death, and Cynic. Death especially. they mentioned Opeth in the lesson and Mikeal Akerfeldt (Opeth guitarist) sites Death as one of his first major influences. Cynic is really insane and one of my person favorites. Them along with Atheist began fusing metal and jazz to get something that sounds unique and absolutely insane.
