  • excellent video...but i never understood why pi is infinite....if it is the ratio between a circles circumference and diameter, why isn't the value calculated to a final value?

  • @meterotronic i'd say "irrational." regardless of vocab though, the way you find the length of a circle's diameter with a given radius (say a radius of 1 inch, or 2 inches, or 10 inches, or 50.5 feet) is effectively by estimating using polygons of progressively more sides; however, regardless of how many sides the polygon has, it will never actually be a circle. ergo, the approximation leads to progressively more and more decimal places, and the irrationality of pi.

  • @svitri2 i hear ya. if you switch to higher quality, the sound is less(ssssss) tinny. youtube and my cheap computer microphone have exposed my lisp!
