  • Does the heat changes hardness of the tool? As far as i understand tool should become softer due to higher temperature. Am i wrong?

  • @SimpleUser11

    Yes, you're wrong.

  • @SimpleUser11 .The heat is kept below the critical temperature of the tool holders...

  • @SimpleUser11 That's a good question. Typically, heat shrink tool holders are used with carbide end mills which do not seem to change characteristics as they are heated or inserted into a heated tool holder. I say they do not seem to, meaning I have not seen a decrease in tool like due to the use of heat shrink tool holders compared to collet, or hydraulic tool holders. I have used very small, .05 mm drills, in heat shrink tool holders while drilling stainless steel without any problems.

  • @SodickUSA Thnx. What the tempereture required for this operation? And diameters of the tool and inner diameter in the holder?

  • how do you remove the tool from the holder?

  • @R1K4RD05 ..heat it and pull the tool out..

  • That should be an induction heater. COntact resonantpower for further details.

  • Quick and efficient machining is the main reason for a high speed mill. These machines are capable of milling a wide range of materials from soft to hard, such sa copper and aluminum, or brittle materials such as graphite, glass or even silicon. These machines enable the user to get the job done faster then a 5000 rpm mill.
