@raposofan - exactly! I remember wanting this SO badly, and being SO disappointed once I actually got it. That ice bird was so hard to move across the ice I just gave up.

My mom wouldnt get us one.
She pulled the blender out of the cupboard, stuck a picture of a bird on it and said "THERE".
Probably a good idea. My neighbour had one, and it didn't get more than a mouthful of ice.

I was visiting my cousins in Maryland in the mid-1970s when one of them got this for a birthday present. Boy, what a dud this thing turned out to be. In the commercial, the kid scrapes the block of ice a few times and gets a decent amount of ice. In reality, though, my cousin scraped and scraped and scraped, and all he got was a tablespoon of ice and a decent workout.

I also had one as a child. They were a lot of fun, but, because of how dull the bottom surface was, it was a lot of work to fill the cup!

Looks like junk. And who wants to eat ice with artificially flavored sugar syrup? Reminds me of the Kool-Aid popsicles we used to make. Hardly any flavor and after a few sucks, the flavor would be gone, and you'd be left with this big hunk of ice on the stick. I can only imagine this is worse.

This music is completely differnet. Must be from the mid 80's. I have this same commercial from the late 70's with the ORIGINAL song. They must have redone the music for the 80's. The narrator is the same.

OK let me confess... as kids we had one of these. The blade under the bird dulls after the first shave. After one icee it never works again. Boy did that song come back to my brain fast.
