  • I'm a single person 59 and they want me to pay $1000 a month. I can't afford

that so I will have to either go to emergency room or just die. I have

a pre existing condition so if I switch I cannot even shop for insurance.

So I will have to have American pay for me out of their hard earned taxes.

  • Hi, samkurz. I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. It's stories like yours that have motivated me to create these videos.

Costs are quickly becoming astronomical, making it hard for decent folks to afford health coverage. My hope is that by providing more information, our policymakers in Washington can make informed decisions to get us back on the right track.

Also, if you watch my other videos, you'll see that I recommend creating high risk pools for people such as yourself.

  • At the beginning of the video, you said many people pay over a thousand dollars a month. But at the end you came to a number of $270. Isn't the average premium much, much higher than $270? If it was $270, I think most people wouldn't see that as very expensive.

  • Thanks for the question!

Keep in mind, that $270 figure is per person. A family of four, for instance, would be a good bit higher. Mom and Dad, depending on their age, could be higher than this amount, while the kids would be less. But the sum of the four can go over $1,000 per month.

    Thanks again!
