Ok 2 things

1. I've done it in my 250 Recon, No snorckle

2. Why did you raise the idle?

@flamesrdark243 well, 2 things, 1: no you didn't, not with an un-snorkeled recon. 2: you raise the idle so that when you let off of the throttle, it's still revving high enough to keep water from entering the exhaust.

@trx500fm1 .. Yea i did, the water may not have been as deep but the only thing showing was the handlebars and gas cap.. that was about 8 years ago, and it still runs too.

I just sold a 99 foreman es that had been sunk and abused many times and it just wouldnt die. before that i had a 86 big red 250... another beast. Also have had dirtbikes and 400ex's theres all the most reliable machines on the market. I just bought a Polaris sportsman 850xp. decided to change it up. Honda needs a Big bore atv...

get a rancher 420... the 500 foreman isnt that great, and the rincon is a POS... id say if your not stuck on honda get a grizzly 700 or the new arctic cat mud pro... maybe the new polaris 850xp....

the rincon does it's a 650 well the one i got but my brother has a 680 newer fuel injected rancher are i thinki 300 foremans are 400ed's and rubicon's are like 500 i think not sure about rubicons

Yea, rancher 420. Whatever you do, don"t get an AT, they suck. Mine can't go through any water, cause of the electric sensor gets wet. I recommend, manual shift!!!!!

If you dont have a snorkel, extended vent lines, dielectric grease, riding smarts and some other misc. things then it really will. It doesnt matter what you do to waterproof an atv. Water is still gonna get in little by little and cause needs for repairs. It just a question of if you want to pay to play. I would rather have a hell of a time and pay a little bit for it instead of sit around and watch.
