More importantly, it wasn't deregulation that provided the fuel for any of the bubbles since the 1920s. The Federal Reserve, manipulating interest rates and the money supply, is ultimately to blame. But don't expect to hear that from the government or the bankers that own it. They both profit from the system.

Most of us have been brainwashed to think the government has to protect us. The Government hasn't protected us from bad drugs & other products. Lobbyists have pushed through the gov't approving Aspartame, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Bisphenol A, Roundup ready (GMO) corn & MSG to name a few bad products. Wouldn't it be better to let the market take care of itself? Bad products result in companies going out of business via lawsuits etc. Many gov't jobs can also be done better by private companies.

On the first regulation question, he could have given an answer that would have been more convincing to Brian Williams and America, namely Canada has already privatized its air traffic controllers and it works great! And for drug regulations, there are all kinds of private companies that specialize in certifying products. For example, Underwriters Laboratories is huge! His answers came off as unconvincing.

@zaurakdigis Market regulation means there wouldn't have been any bailouts. Instead, the government stepped in and handed your money to the people responsible for the carnage. More importantly, it wasn't deregulation that provided the fuel for any of the bubbles since the 1920s. The Federal Reserve, manipulating interest rates and the money supply, is ultimately to blame. But don't expect to hear that from the government or the bankers that own it. They both profit from the system.

Who were funding the studies? because "every scientist" seems pretty big especially since volcanoes affect the environment so much more compared to them we aren't even a blip on the radar. The planet is warming but it's a normal process and unless humans pollute so badly our pollution on earth is leaking to Mars causing it's ice caps to to melt the sun's just getting warmer. Even if America was completely green China would make up for it because they don't care.

Most of us have been brainwashed to think the government has to protect us. The Government hasn't protected us from bad drugs & other products. Lobbyists have pushed through the gov't approving Aspartame, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Bisphenol A, Roundup ready (GMO) corn & MSG to name a few bad products. Wouldn't it be better to let the market take care of itself? Bad products result in companies going out of business via lawsuits etc. Many gov't jobs can also be done better by private companies.

Some people have said this wasn't RP's best debate, which may be true, but I thought he did well on a couple of the questions, including the last one. While I hugely respect Ron Paul and the message of Liberty he has worked so hard to spread, I don't respect the message of statism Huntsman is advocating. However, I must say Huntsman himself has my respect for stepping in as a mediator against Perry's attempts to bully Dr. Paul. Lucky for Perry, Dr. Paul is a true Christian who avoids violence as much as possible and never initiates it in any form. How would it make Perry look after he bragged about killing people get knocked out by Dr. Paul?

Ron Paul dominated this debate and all I hear about on channel 1 morning news is how the exchange (which was probably rehearsed beforehand) between Romney and Perry on job creation was "the most important part of the debate." Not a word about Ron Paul. Amazing. Like a ponzi scheme, which Perry stole from RP. Ron Paul has said that those currently under SS & Med would continue to recieve their check, but would need to be funded with money we waste overseas. Sound money would improve SS purchasing power. To phase out SS, an opt out choice for young people could be introduced.

The FDA knows that things like aspartame and other drugs are making people sick. They wait until hundreds have died or have become sick and injured. Put that money to pay the debt and help people in the US and as a result we'll have to bring the troops home because we don't want them frying and the war is too costly which makes Ron Paul happy because our troops are safe. This almost made me cry, because I know that may don`t understand freedom. I grew up in a democratic family in NYC. I saw first hand; the results of these "programs" intendend to help the poor. All that happens is that big buracracy is set up to sap money from those that have it; and the poor remain poor. On the first regulation question, he could have given an answer that would have been more convincing to Brian Williams and America, namely Canada has already privatized its air traffic controllers and it works great! And for drug regulations, there are all kinds of private companies that specialize in certifying products. For example, Underwriters Laboratories is huge! His answers came off as unconvincing.

The good news is that the fringe candidates will be dropping out and the scum media will have a harder and harder time ignoring Dr. Paul. Even in 2008 when Dr. Paul was less known and less popular, he was in the campaign till the end. I guess they'll still try to ignore him, but it's going to be more difficult than in 2008.

Which begs the question--Why isn't' there as many rabid fans for the rest of the Republican candidates voting on the polls? Because there aren't any! Only thing holding them up is corporate backers. @blank557 ..and not going to take it anymore. So, they can ignore him as much as they want, he will win the nomination, and beat Obama for the Presidency. What will have to be looked out for is the rigging of the voting results. A grass roots option needs to be considered where actual votes can be duplicated outside the system, so that verification can be made for votes legitimately made. Every vote for Paul will need to be independently verified, how this can be done I'm not sure.
