in the alternate position that they play it in, the notes harmonize each other and they ring. The way you play it, even though the notes are correct, they aren't harmonizing each other or ringing as long.
He's just trying to say that playing it on the G with an open B creates dissonance and it gives it the weird, creepy, scary sound, but it's seriously not a big deal.
dude remember when I went to your performance and I made you imagine what it would feel like if I ran up with a maniacal grin and cut all your strings and left you for dead on stage?

Well done. But there is that one tone in the first verse riff (aprox. at 1:27 ), is that a pinch harmonic or how do i get this tone???
ciffi 3 years ago
yes it is actually :)
DeanFromHell1993 3 years ago
pinch on the 3rd fret of the low E string, the harmonic is closer to the bridge than the neck pickup.

euphoriadrums01 3 years ago
Where'd you get this tab?
It's not the right one, but easier to play.
The real one is on Ultimate Guitar, the 5* one.

What, pray tell, is wrong about the way I played it?
xenowang 3 years ago
The intro part where you play the 9-9-8-8 part, it's on the G string on 3, and then open on B.
Well that's how they played it live, and the Ultimate Guitar tab says.
j4ck4Iz 3 years ago
Sure, I use a different position, but it comes out to be the same. How is it easier to play that way anyways?
xenowang 3 years ago
It's a different position and isn't exactly the same.
It's 3h4 on G then it's open on B,
It's a lot different.
Check the other tab dude.

You do realize there's more than one way to play something, right? The same notes are being played. Who cares if it's played in a different position?
xenowang 3 years ago
Dude thats not what im saying.
In the sonjg you can hear the notes harmonize.
4 on G harmonizes with the open B instead of playing the 9 twice.
It's hard to explain.
j4ck4Iz 3 years ago 4
if you play it up there, you can't let the notes ring and clash with each other, which is why this song is so cool.

other than that, great job on the cover. playing the intro on the G string just creates more dissonance like in the song.
