The lineup at my very first concert ever as a kid was: Vio-Lence, Nuclear Assault, Overkill, Voi-Vod, and Testament headlined. It was the greatest fucking show ever and I've been a fan of Thrash, Punk, Hardcore and all that other good stuff since then. Thanks for posting this. It brought back so many epic memories. \m/

@MADBALL9991 You're so lucky, that sounds like a brutal concert. The only bands that come to my city are Screamo bands, so If I want to go to a concert I have to make due with sub-par music. Metallica came once, but it was filled with old people (lol wut) and was one of the weaker concerts I've ever seen.

@ih8makinusernames Yeah man I was lucky enough to have grown up during that whole era. Thrash is slowly making a come back. it just doesn't have the same feel it did when I was kid. I'm 36 now. But I can at least say that I had the honor of seeing a ton of great bands in my time before the scene temporarily died.

@MADBALL9991 Sadly, I find a lot of old school thrasher absolutly despise the new scene, or at least a very vocal minority do. It seems typical elitism akin with BM Purists, stupid, but it's there. Typical "Thrash only lived once" or "All the new bands do is rip off the 80's" etc, critism. I got screwed by being born in the 90's and getting into music when Metal was at it's worst. I've yet to see any of my favorite bands because they don't come within 200 miles of my city :(

thrash IS a combo of British new wave metal (like Maiden) and punk rock.

Some other thrash bands incorperate more death metal themes like Kreator and the such, but these guys are pretty much pure thrash.

Old Sepultura (Bestial Devastation/Morbid Vision/Schizophrenia= death era, Beneath the Remains/Arise= thrash era) were awesome. They begin with death as many knew already. Even the metal press called Morbid Angel, Death, Obituary and Sepultura the big four of death.
