one more thing- did you know that you can actually apply a charge to a saltwater battery, and it acts as rechargable battery! I figured this out myself, I dont know if other people have made videos, but I made a 12-volt battery, with 16 cells in series and got around 40 mAh out of it.. when it was as drained as I could get it, I applied a voltage and current for a few seconds, and it actually went up beyond 120 mAh, which I used to light a bright led for over a week..
@LiquidChem Yes I know now, but I would not have thought so.
A friend was looking at mine and asked if you could recharge it. I told him no, because it makes the voltage, so it is really a generator, not a battery. That shows how much I know. We hooked a 12 volt charger to it and was surprised when it charged up.It sounds to me like you know more about this than I do. I was just copying some things I have seen my Brother do. Bill
ive been making some homebrew batteries also.. Im looking for a way to get high current for free.. if we can find a way to get a salt from the earth, and/or some kind of acids we could do it for free and have power with no money at all.. what do you think
Wow. How cool. Simple and it works. I remember similar science experiment when we were kids. Thanks for the survival idea. Now I have to remember how to arrange things in a series circuit.
@235stefan Thank you for looking. I hope you have fun, as I did. Did you see my earth battery. That one is SO simple. If I remember right, I got about 1.4 volts from it. And greeting to you from Virginia, USA
Use KOH to add electrolyte in wather, its cheep and it's gives wather 20x more electricity

you could have just used a 2 dollar voltage regulator and a resistor and saved those leds!
