@Danzerfaust I always thought they were flightless birds like the Ostrich and the Emu. Every time I see them at the zoo or on TV, they are always on the ground... but the whole wings clipped thing makes sense. Oo
@borncountry419 Some of these birds may have Green Peafowl genes. (this is the unfortunate situation in China where Indian Peafowl often mistaken for Green Peafowl) Green Peafowl fly better than Indian Peafowl. They are unusual for being able to fly so well and have flight displays. Not much is known about this though.
it is quite hard to believe, but peacocks are really good fliers, and no they don't flap their tails. only their wings. they are great fliers and can carry their own weight around.

@2fast4u5 Yeah, I think they should teach in school that "PEACOCKS CAN FLY, CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF!" Just to shake it up a little.

Actually, Indian peafowl do fly very well. Crosses between Indian and java greens are called spalding peafowl, which the ones in the video, are not.

Some of these are probably hybrids between Indian and Green Peafowl. Indian Peafowl don't fly good, Green Peafowl are good fliers.
Green Peafowl is now considered endangered... And the form of Green Peafowl in China is said to be a fourth possible subspecies... :(

they look more like gliding down to me. but how did they 'glide' up? flap their tails too? lolll
