This was built during the era when "Ford has a better idea". The idea of putting the radio antenna on the driver's side of the car wasn't one of their better ideas. Love this car.
Wow! - dig that rusty exhaust! and is that genuine FoMoCo dirt caked all over the oil leaking out of the diff? I'm sure glad he took so much footage of all that stuff...
I had a 1971 Thunderbird with bucket seats. It was white with a black top and interior. I've had almost every kind of car including Mercedes Benz's since then and the Thunderbird was my favorite car! Man that thing was fast.
The 1970-1971 Thunderbird's were restyled in those years to compete with the 1969-1970 Pontiac Grand Prix which cut into T-bird's sales considerably. The front of end of T-birds in this era reflects a Pontiac look as Ford hired designers from GM's Pontiac Division.
i dislike fords but that one is a classic and i admire all the domestic classics..though i only consider dodges to be relatively reliable in that class, fords then were designed to break and be hrd to fix, at least chevs had parts and accessibility, and dodges, man, no need to ever fix em...dodge is like toyota and reliable makes
Beautiful car. This is from the era when you bought the kind of car you needed and could afford, and you took care of it so it would last. Not like today, you just buy what you can finance, and don't worry about maintaining it.
i would love to have something lke that but insurance would be hell for me :(
